As much as I thought the Cubs offense sucked, I was shocked to find out they have scored 20 more runs than the Pirates so far.

our OPS is .604. Zambrano's career OPS is .643.

Basically got nothing for him, but it's not like he was doing anything anyway, so I guess it at least frees up an OF spot for Jackson eventually or to move LaHair into when Rizzo comes up.

yeah that was such a WTF moment.

1st and 2nd, no outs, 4-4 game, 8th inning. castro up, lahair on deck. castro bunts into the 3-5-4 double play.

i guess sveum was thinking that a successful bunt gives him a runner on 3rd with 1 out, but that would also mean soriano batting, and he's double play prone. sure is easy to look back and say, "uh dale, let your studs swing the bat."

luckily, the cards gave it up anyway.

Barney only guy that should be allowed to sac bunt. Mediocre hitter, good bunter. TC should always just bunt for a hit. Also, learn the butcher boy play. Corner IF are 15 feet away, have to swing and put some fear into them. The other thing we always seem to do is bunt with geo as the lead runner. Gee, wonder why that doesn't work out for us.
