Oh and to, once more, rub this point in.

In a 4-point game:
The Bears Passed 43 times and Ran 20.
The Eagles Passed 32 times and Ran 30.

Get that.
The notoriously Pass-Happy Eagles had near 50% run plays missing their starting Halfback.
The get-off-the-bus-running Bears Ran less than 30% of the time, with a guy running who busted off 72 yards on his first carry.

Fire this basterd. This f***ing week.

The Eagles' late 4th quarter drives probably skew the pass-run totals a bit though.

It probably bumps their runs up by 6, our passes up by 6.

Point still remains though. This happens EVERY WEEK. Announcers even made a point that Lovie had told Turner to call more runs. Same old ****.

Eagles are pass heavy. We're supposed to be run heavy. And this week we had no excuse for passing because we were getting hardly any yards out of it anyway.

At this point in the season Cutler's head isn't even on straight.

Turner's the Scarecrow.
Lovie's the Tinman.

1 - Fire Lovie/Turner
2 - Hire Mastermind + Bates
3 - Wait 2-3 years
4 - Crush the souls of everyone in the NFC

Bell's first carry went for 72 yards.

Bell's second carry went for 7 yards. (nullified by a penalty on a needless block by Kellen Davis).

Bells's third carry went for 8 yards.

Bell finished the game with FOUR CARRIES.

I rest my case.

anyone else listen to the score670 on the way home from work today? they had the Bears insider guy on and he reported that "a person above Jerry Angelo has had contact about the availability of Cowher, Gruden, and Shanahan"

this is thrilling news to me, doubt Bears brass has the balls to clean house and bring in one of these big names. If you compare the Bears to the other teams that will be looking for a new HC, we have to be the most attractive seeing as we have the best QB and the biggest market. Worst thing about us is we dont have any draft picks.

Yeah I've been keeping track of it the last hour or so since it broke.

I'd love it to happen.

One problem with it so far, the source is Hub Arkush. I hate Arkush. He's acted like a jilted lover since the Bears canned him from the Bears radio broadcast (with Jeff Joniak and Tom Thayer). I need another source than Arkush.

I'd love Shanahan and Cowher though. Probably in that order.

yeah im the same. my order of preference would be
1. Shanahan (because of his past with Cutler)
2. Cowher
3. Gruden

This is all great, but I have to think it is either lip service leaking by the front office to the fans. Or it is just being straight fabricated.

Can't see them shelling out about $10 million for the coaching position next season (rest of Lovie's deal + Shanny/ Cowher contract).

yea thats what i thought, but if we wait a year, the coaching market will dry up, well it wont have this caliber of coaches anyways. also, i heard something about there not being a salary cap next year or something, i dont really know that whole situation tho.
also, we'll be saving money on draft picks next year, we dont have any bonus money to pay any high draft picks so we'll be saving money from numerous areas for next year.

A few days later this looks, as I feared, like it was Hub blowing smoke up people's arses.

Lovie is signed for two more years. Jerry for more than that. I just don't see the Beaqrs biting both those contracts and paying 10 mill+ per year to Cowher/Shanahan.

I hope they do. But unless they barely win a game (and we have STL and DET) I don't see it.

Good news for this Sunday, All Dat is questionable. And he has a history of running through the Bears Run D like it isn't there.

Another game. Another genius Ron Turner gameplan.

First half complete v Vikes.
20 Passes, 4 Rushes. ROFLOLBAD.
Kahlil Bell didn't get a single carry.

No wonder Cutler's getting picked. Turner thinks he's coaching the '84 Dolphins with Marino.
Second half is going to get fugly for Cutler now we're 17 down.

F*** this coaching staff.

here's hoping cutler is one of those guys who take a while to get comfortable after leaving the team they came in with. every time i see a denver clip, he's got no one coming at him and all sorts of time, but otoh he's supposed to be an elite player, and he's not holding up his end of the bargain. i honestly think devin hester can be a steve smith type #1 if he works hard enough -- he's got speed, quickness and good hands. whether that's overoptimistic or not, bennett is a good possession receiver, and olson and forte round out what will have to be a perfectly acceptable receiving corps, because for the love of god, we need 2 or 3 o-linemen. i don't know who's available, but they should get rich because we had to sign them. maybe we can get a decent guy with our high 2nd-round pick (unless we got rid of it too). and it's not a coincidence that forte looks a little better after the debut of kalil bell. maybe next year we'll play a little harder.

They already did.
Pace and Omiyale cost a boatload (and Omi hadn't even been a starter). The people who PAID these people need firing.

We did. For Gaines Adams. Who else would give up a 2 for an about-to-be-declared bust?

No, it's not. As it wasn't last week.
75% of this team has given up on the season. The only real exceptioins are Briggs for sure, and mostly Tillman, Cutler (though his brain has melted).

****ing gut the coaching staff, and GM, tomorrow. Basically everyone but Dave Toub (ST Coordinator). And put the entire playing staff on notice.

It'll never happen though. ****ing team.

Who's the best UFA wide receiver available this offseason?

Would anyone here take a chance on T.O.? I kinda think I would.

for the first time in my life, i actually turned off the game midway through the 2nd quarter. i couldnt take it anymore. Jerry Angelo, Lovie Smith, Ron Turner and whoever is under them, need to be let go. This team needs a new leader, a new voice. Its an absolute embarrassment
