Whenever the Bruins get good offensive players (Joe Thorton, Phil Kessel), they ship em out. Always say they weren't tough enough. Okay, I like tough players as much as the next guy but you got to have someone to put the puck in the damn net.

They say they're not tough enough because saying "we don't care about championships, only making a profit" sounds kinda bad.

I noticed the NHL network is showing reruns of last year's Stanley Cup finals. They're up to Game 4 right now, but all games have multiple airings.

Flew from Pittsburgh to Winnipeg after winning last night for second of back to back games tonight. A good game to tune in for during this run.

About time this bandwagon thread started back up.

All I have to say is it's great how much hockey NBC is giving us, it's really starting to rekindle the dying embers of my interest in the sport....it's just funny that they happen to do it when there's a criminal act committed every other game. Crosschecks to the face, grabbing a guy's head and slamming it into the glass....Game On!

Thread title change:

Boston Bruins: Cursed by Barack

****ing Timmy Thomas, couldn't you have just gone with the program? Dis the POTUS in the Nations Capital and it was a lock to be a first round victim of their team.

I don't follow the team, but the Globe just put me on tilt. Headline and article tell us that Chiarelli thought he had completed a trade for Iginla, but then Calgary stopped answering their phone when he called, and he found out hours later that the deal was off and Iginla was on his way to PIT. "Meh, it happens sometimes," was the GM's stance.

I'm reading this, going out of my mind, wondering why anyone would make a trade with Calgary ever again....when finally, in the last paragraph or two, they mention Iginla's no-trade clause (ie, it was Iginla who nixed the deal, not the Flames; and Chiarelli's a moron for thinking it was a done deal when he knew he needed Iggy's stamp of approval, and he's not going to any team with a skinflint owner in a contract year).

Is this stuff hard, Globe? These things wouldn't happen if Peter Gammons and Bob Ryan and Bud Collins were still alive!

The word was the Bruins were on Iginla's list of teams he would wave his no-trade for. Apparently after the deal was made he had a change of heart about coming to Boston. Also, it would seem Calgary could have at least answered Chiarelli's calls and let him know there were some issues developing regarding the no-trade. It was also reported that Calgary refused to let the Bruin's speak with Iginla.

If Iginla didn't want to go to a skinflint owner, then he shouldn't have put the B's on his approved list. If the reported approved list didn't exist and the B's were not pre-approved by Iginla, then Calgary never should have told the B's that the deal was done. A big cluster **** in any case.

Any word yet on Bergeron?

Edit: not to mention, imo in recent years the Bruins have been more guilty of overpaying than underpaying.

Man, I live under a rock in Texas and don't have a TV so I don't get to follow as closely as I'd like, but the wtf factor of Jagr in a B's uniform made me clear my schedule for this.

Such an awesome game, I really am missing out this season I think.

Game 7 went to overtime. A series just can't be any closer than that, it really could've gone either way. Any tiny little thing might have been the difference...

....so to the guy who made the "Toronto Stronger" sign: thanks for the bulletin board material!
