If there's any silver lining,

The defense is young and talented.

Whoever we hire at OC will have the most stacked, deep lineup to work with, ever.

We have the QB, the defense, and the unstoppable force (Julio and TWO RB's)

I hope they build on this and go scorched earth on the league next year. I won't feel good if we're up 84-0 in the Super Bowl in the 3rd quarter, though.

It's either that, or Matt Ryan goes down like Jim Kelly. There's no in-between.

It will never feel better until we win a ring.

But the Spurs won after the Ray Allen shot, that probably gave them some closure.

Yeah didn't want to post yesterday out of respect for Falcons fans. Granted, a meltdown in the Super Bowl hurts more than an NFC Championship game, but Packers meltdown against Seahawks a few years ago still sticks with me. Falcons are in a good position though going forward. Obviously Quinn gets a lot out of his players. They seem to have a good mix of veterans and younger players. Number 97 was a friggen beast and Dwight Freeney had a lot of good plays on the DL. Trufant will be back. Losing Shannahan is the only real negative,. Switching OCs can be problematic.

Should DQ get more of the blame, is it ok to pass it all off on Kyle? Or are we ok with a HC that is hands off on strategy and play calling in those crucial moments?

I'd hate to be in a situation like Tech often is - where Paul Johnson gets all the praise and glory for the offense, but bears little responsibility for what happens on the defensive side of the ball. Isn't a HC's job to have a hand in everything?

I think it's fine in any given game for the HC to have nothing to do with that decision. You have to delegate and trust your subordinates. But he is still responsible for the overall strategy. So Quinn is responsible for setting up a situation where Shannahan does **** like snap the ball with 20 seconds on the play clock up 25.
