Welp. Dansby sent down.

I think this is good for him long term. Remember he came straight up from AA, never played at AAA

He definitely needs to be playing everyday... and not with the big club.

Blair sent down too, so today was just a spot start.

Makes me wonder who the #5 starter job is going to go to in the intermediate term.

I kinda feel like Blair is what he is at this point, I don't think he'll ever have upside beyond being a swingman type.

I really want Lucas Sims to get a shot... I guess we'll find out when we get back from Philly

Or Sonny Gray.

I'd be okay with that too, long as we don't give up too much.

Lucas Sims to start Tuesday!

It's just the Dodgers, no big deal... go get 'em, rook

Anything less than him getting lit up would be a great start

Do we think Snitker gets fired next week?

Do we think he should?

I wonder if they're grooming Ron Washington to take his job.

nice thread title I feel like hawks might be the worst team in league this year

how are the pitching prospects looking? how do you guys feel about next season?

Overall, I like all the pitching prospects.

Most of them walk way too many guys right now, but that's to be expected at this point in their development.

In theory, having lots of young, cost-controlled arms is the best thing to have depth at, because you can trade that for anything else.

I've also heard rumors that we're gonna go after Mike Moustakas in FA to finally shore up 3B.

If he's really a 38 HR a year talent at 3B, then I'm all for it.

Per Fangraphs:

Braves lose 12 players signed from international free agent pools from 2015-2017, including Kevin Maitan, who I was really hopeful about

Spring Training games start in just 11 days!

O'Brien says the Braves probably can't afford Mike Moustakas, who's still out there in FA. Looks like the plan is to bridge 3B with Camargo until Austin Riley's ready.

MLB trade rumors says that we've been in discussions for Eduardo Nunez, but lots of teams are after him, so who knows.

I can't wait to see how the starting rotation shakes out in Spring Training, and who moves to the bullpen.

And ACUNA, too, of course

Dansby homered off Scherzer today

that's encouraging

Fangraphs' Top Prospects for the Braves is out.

It's worth noting that co-author Kiley McDaniel was a prospect guru, then got hired by the Braves, and is now back to being a prospect guru, so reading between the lines, you can see how the organization values some of these guys.

Was a little surprised to see AJ Minter down at 16, the CBS guys think he's in the mix for the closer's gig.

Also,

ACUNA!

3 series played, 3 series won

Freddie OPS'ing 1.500+ again, leads majors in OBP

Newcomb looked great today

I am once again irrationally optimistic about this team's chances.

...and ACUNA is coming soon!

I've got $$$ on over 74.5 wins. Feeling prettay, prettay good about it, 6-4 would be pretty meaningless in a vacuum but Swanson looks like a completely different person from last year and Ozzie is showing that he is a freak physical talent. Newcomb and Folty are looking good, seems they've both gotten more comfortable throwing change-ups.

And the fluky parts of our success, Flaherty and Tucker, will be replaced by Camargo and Acuna by next week, moving Tucker to be an good bench bat.

Only real troubling sign is Julio, especially as he is going to have a super long leash. Thankfully he looked a little better yesterday, think he got his velo up a little.

Newcomb's changeup could be the difference maker.

Threw it 21% of the time in Colorado for that 9K, 0BB start he had last week
