Only argument I can think of for sending Swanson down is to get away from the pressure (assuming he's feeling pressured) of being the savior etc. The Freeman injury sucks in that regard because he was taking a lot of the attention away from Swanson I think.
I haven't been watching many games tbh but if you look at the advanced defensive metrics and all that **** he's doing completely fine at SS. Leading the league in errors isn't a good look tho lol
