GOLD has a legit argument for MVP today.

1st in HR
T-4th in R
1st in RBI
2nd in SLG%
5 9th inning HRs and great defense

4th in WAR behind David Wright and Carlos Gomez who are both on bad teams, and McCutchen--who is probably his best competition for MVP.

In all reality though, we shouldn't expect to be 5 games over .500 and be in contention for a division. We need a nice little 12 of 15 run or so. Definitely gonna need to handle our business head to head against the Dodgers down the stretch.

Time to kick off what needs to be a very successful home stand. I'd say this is a last ditch effort to get back in playoff contention.

Anyone else take advantage of the ticket promo running right now? In honor of their 18 inning win Saturday night, ALL first level tickets are $18 for the 3 game series vs the Padres. I managed to get 2 tickets for tomorrow, about 8 rows behind the Dbacks on deck circle. A pretty sweet deal at $18 for what I think are $100 seats.

We were given the chance to go down on the field during batting practice a couple nights ago. It was definitely a first for me. Pretty cool experience.

Adam Eaton was easily the friendliest of the people who came over.

The kids always manage to end up on the big screen during the seventh inning stretch. (This one was from last night)

After leaving the field, we hung out behind the dugout for a while before heading to our seats. They managed to get autographs from Trevor Cahill, Patrick Corbin, Tony Campana, and Brandon McCarthy from there.

Mark Trumbo to the Dbacks for Skaggs and Eaton. I hate seeing Eaton leave just because he seems to be a good hard nosed team player, but I love the trade. Putting a 30 hr, 100 rbi guy behind Goldy will be awesome, even if he only bats .230. And he's cheap for now.
