Daniel Hudson is a worthless bum. I don't understand the love people around here have for him. He's been complete garbage since I've been following the team, and he'll continue to be complete garbage. He's pretty high up on the list of people I want to see gone at the trade deadline.

Edit: the majority of our pitching staff is on that list. Watching reliever after reliever come in and be awful is just painful.

Yeah, Hudson tried to blow both of our wins in Colorado in the 8th as well. His ERA has almost tripled over his last 4 appearances.

Well, that is on Chip Hale. He should have left Tuffy in, and then bat Castillo for the pitcher. Having O'Brien be the only bat left made them obviously pitch around Castillo. Hell, I would have rather seen Corbin bat.

I was thinking the same thing. But I guess at the same time, you don't want to have Tuffy make the 3rd out with Castillo never getting to hit.

I know it's a day late, but one answer to this conundrum is Castillo being more aggressive. He should know they're gonna pitch around him for obvious reasons, and he should also know that if he walks, the game is essentially over for obvious reasons. Why can't he look for a certain spot off the plate and if it comes that way clobber it. But no, he didn't even try. He was perfectly content to walk, probably never even entertaining the real possibility that if you're doing what your enemy wants you to do you're probably doing it wrong.

I feel like now would be a good time to express my strong dislike for Daniel Hudson.

Was this guy ever good? Like, back before his 12 Tommy John surgeries. Was he good back then and that's why people like him, or is he some kind of feel good story? Because he ****ing sucks right now. And people talk about making him a starter? But I guess then he'd only screw us once every 5th day. When Hudson comes in the game it's like we've waved the white flag.

Also, Chip Hale continues to use Hudson. That should be a fireable offense on its own. Once you start looking at how bad his game management is(his lineups are a whole different story) I don't see any way he's our manager next year.

I especially like how Hale tried to show he is trying by batting Segura 3rd and Goldschmidt 4th. Forgetting that he is batting the worst two hitters in the lineup (pitcher included) 1st and 2nd.

If I remember right, it was 7-3 when he came in. 3 batters later it was 7-5 with a man on base. Details from last night are a bit fuzzy.
