I understand that my overall RB choices aren't very good. But is really having 2 RBs from the same team a good strategy? I really didn't think it was and I didn't even considered DeAngelo on my (very) shortlist.

you want both the starter and the backup running back ideally, because that way if your starter gets hurt then you have a ready made replacement on your bench.

like, if bell gets injured later in the season you're straight ****ed. but if you had deangelo on your bench you could just slot him in and feel good about it, because all those opportunities to score pts which bell was getting, deangelo is now gonna get going forward. it comes down to this: you'd rather have a meh player getting tons of opportunities than a good player who isnt getting any.

once bell is eligible to play, deangelo will go from having loads of opportunity to score to having very little. at that point, he becomes fairly useless to joejoe, but he's still useful to you because of the reason above. you might consider looking a TRAID opportunities in a couple weeks

similarly, starks is probably quite useless to you right now because he's likely not going to get much opportunity to score pts unless lacy gets hurt in some sort of pie eating accident. otoh, he's worth quite a bit to whoever owns lacy
