I know it didn't work with the Trade or Start/Sit threads, but maybe perhaps we can stop clogging up the main thread with all that Atl backfield nonsense.

So everyone who missed out on Freeman and still thinks he is trash, and Coleman is infinitely better, post here.
And I won't discriminate - everyone who knows Coleman is useless can also post here.

Spoiler:
feel free to use this thread for Ladarius Green HOF support as well

LOLOLOLOLOL

Freeman isn't physically capable of being special. Coleman has the physical make up to at least have special in his range. All that this Freeman nonsense has taught me is no matter how bad the RB is in Shanahan's system we should be targeting him in future FF drafts.

Spoiler:
I'm more explosive than Freeman

Spoiler:
Not joking

Spoiler:
I don't think I can run a 40 in 4.61 though.

Spoiler:
I Def can jump higher

I'm not going to do the numbers again but Ladarius Green would be the #1 TE or #2 TE in FF is Rivers didn't hate him. He puts up TE1 numbers with 60% or less of the targets other gifted TE get. He's always open on the tape and even when he's not open he's open because he's a really big guy with a huge catch radius. The rainbow TD pass Rivers threw to him a couple weeks ok is a play that is always there if they line him up in the slot.

Forget who but one of the fantasy guys on Twitter said Coleman is probably a lock top-10 RB if Freeman doesn't exist. Freeman is obviously better but that scheme really helps any RB.

Coleman looked better on Thursday night. He has that burst that Freeman doesn't have, and can get that extra yard. He's gonna break an 80-yarder soon, don't believe me? Just watch.

Yeah I agree but that fumble yo. Coleman was flashing and Freeman looks legit average but he can't put the ball on the ground in high leverage situations. Ever really.....

Freeman probably going to be fantasy's #1 overall player this year and then next year be the #1 bust. Just one of those years.

It's funny but I don't think Atlanta thinks Freeman's their best back. Look at LeVeon/DeAngelo Williams and how Pittsburgh handled that situation compared to "omg" Freeman. As soon as Bell is available he gets all the carries. Pre fumble Coleman was in a 40/60 split as soon as he was available.

Why?

I've learned that lesson well over the years. It feels like people are afraid to speak the truth about average RB's excelling because of scheme while they're producing because of backlash. Alfred Morris is a great example of this. Matthew Berry called him a "legitimate star" before the season and I laughed while not touching him in any draft.

Are you really asking why/

Leveon was the best RB in the NFL last season, and one of the best 3 players at any position. Every single NFL coach and every single fan (except possibly you idk?) would have done the EXACT same thing with the Pitt situation.

Freeman/Coleman on the other hand is as dissimilar of a situation as anyone could possibly think of. Coleman is a rookie who had zero NFL experience prior to week 1. DAW is an old ass NFl vert who has proven to be mediocrely average throughout his 10+ year career.
And while Williams filled in and actually had 2 pretty solid games compared to what was expected of him in Bell's absence, Freeman has been the best performer in the entire league over teh past 5 weeks.

Its pretty ridiculous to even compare the 2 situations.

But thats what this thread is for, so touche!

I'm not questioning why Pittsburgh handled their situation the way they did. I'm questioning why Atlanta was so eager to get Coleman in the game if Freeman is such a great player.

I mean ride that stud RB yo! Amiright?

You have to be a special kind of mediocre to be putting up the kind of numbers Freeman is and as soon as they can take the ball out of his hands they do.

Atlanta knows who their best RB is...........

Coleman: 4.4 yards/touch on 35 touches, 0 TD
Freeman: 5.8 yards/touch on 138 touches, 10 TD

Facts, sometimes they are hard to believe.

Spoiler:
and before you LOLsamplesize me, think about what you are saying... is Coleman's average really going to go up by over 30%+ with more touches??

lol This.

Tbh even though I think Coleman > Freeman, I still think I have more Freeman overall in leagues. I love how Freeman is tearing it up and it appears Team Freeman actually appears more upset than Team Coleman.

cs3, you're right but you're also overplaying your position. Having a talented backup + a non-******ed HC does make a huge difference. We've seen sudden changes (maybe not as extreme to how Freeman has started, but not super removed from that) fairly often.

Do you think Freeman is a 5.8 ypc RB? I mean is he the best RB in the history of the NFL? I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's benefitting from some outside factors.

I actually think he sucks still. Maybe he changes my mind through the course if the season. I've seen him make one play where I said "that was nice". The rest of the time i've been laughing. Watch the tape lololol he might be the slowest player on the field that's not a DL or OL and I'm not joking.

You guys are missing my point. I dont even think Freeman is all that fantastic talent-wise to be honest. (although he is prob better than a lot of peeps give him credit for).
I dont own him in a single league, and I actually drafted Coleman in 3.
But I dont think Coleman is all that great either.
And since Freeman's results have been astronomical, and Atlanta's upcoming schedule is the easiest in the NFL and their scheme shows no signs of failing, when exactly is Freeman supposed to fail for a long a enough stretch that the coaches are forced to decide if Coleman should take over?
Barring injury, I dont see it happening this year.

Yeah I agree with that for this year if Atlanta doesn't trust Coleman after that fumble. Admittedly I don't know. Coleman looks better to me so I still see a scenario where Coleman forces a 50/50 split maybe more before the end of the year.

I don't understand what you are seeing when you say Coleman doesn't look good. I see shades of McCoy.....
