Hey, here's a situation that came up in my league. 10-team league, 1st year we've been doing this. There are two clear front-runners, 5 teams in the playoff hunt, 1 team that may make playoffs, and 2 cellar dwellers.

Guy who runs one of the front-runners notices that the championship round is week 17. Nobody had noticed this until now. Suggests changing it to week 16. People in playoff hunt want an extra week of regular season to give themselves a better chance to catch up. So we've got a situation where if we change it to week 16 mid-season some people are disadvantaged but if we don't week 17 is the title game and there's uncertainty based on whether players get sat/rested. So, what do you do?

100% too late to change

I would change it because week 16 championship is the clear default settings and should be the only option in any league. In my opinion everyone would agree on that before the season begins.

Week 17 is the default setting, and I agree that week 16 is the better Championship week.

However, in OP'S league, they played 10 weeks under the assumption that week 17 is the Championship. Way too late to just change it because the #1 guy wants to.

maybe the playoff teams will be set in stone after week 15, in which case it could reasonably be moved to week 16 (with the approval of all playoff team owners)

I'm also guessing that the dude who suggested the switch is angle shooting because he realized his roster is way better in week 16 than 17, but maybe that's just the part of me that thinks everyone in fantasy is pushing edges all the time.
