Well most leagues (I was in two, down to one, but both were this way) don't allow you to take the same team twice, so that's at least three times on the season that Whoever's Playing Jax guy has to pick someone other than the Jags' opponent.

It's pretty hard to go 0-16. Cleveland and Buffalo play Jacksonville this year and I don't really want to put a lot of stock in either of those teams.

Plus Jags play Colts in Week 4 and I'd guess > 25% of people still alive in all pools took Colts Week 1.

This. Anyone who doesn't take Seattle this week are just overcomplicating things.

If you take sea this week you can get DEN hosting ten or jax later

There is always that 100/1 chance that the Jags pull it out. Crushing the whole pool and leaving you with 4 guys left to beat though if you go different.

That said I'm taking Seattle.

Found the team I am going with for this week. Let's go Jacksonville!

yeah I think seattle is so good I'm not really afraid to take them against just about anyone when they are at home....

figuring everyone will go SEA then denver might be a decent pick this week and just pray for a jacksonville upset. yes what I am writing in this post is an oxymoron but you get the point.

Going Seattle. Seems like a no brainer.

Lot of options this week. I'd be basing my decision on what I think everyone in my pool was most likely to do (may have a decent read after the first two weeks). Lots of big favorites this week, so trying to fade Seattle if you think everyone is on them may be a good play.

Maybe everybody will have the theory that everyone will be on Seattle and they will try to fade them, so I'll take Seattle and I'll be the only with them.

So last week, I had two entries eft in my Last Man Standing Contest - against the spread.

I had:

NO -3.5 and lost
BUFF +2.5 and won.

So I've got one entry left. Time to make a run!

So what games against the spread do you guys like?

TB +9 seems like good value (gronk is 50/50, but I still like it if he plays because he won't be 100%) Bears only giving 1 @lolstealers who may go 2-14 this year. And I kinda like the Gmen +1 @Carolina.

I have out Dallas last week and this week I love Carolina. They have had the Giants number, and I see Cam dominating.

EdBratz does not seem like a very strong survivor player

won 2 in the last 5 years and got to week 15 last year. My Carolina pick was in regards to the spread for Domenic's last man standing contest.

The problem with not taking Seattle is that you have to either take Denver, a team with some very favorable matchups going forward, or take a chance. Sure the Saints are -9 but Arizona is a super dangerous team and the Saints have huge value going forward. Same with the 49ers / Colts game. I suppose Min / Cle is another option but a good defense + Ponder makes that pretty unappealing.

I don't understand anyone not taking SEA; I mean which week are you saving them for? Week 6 vs TEN is pretty good, but that week we have DEN vs Jax. Such a simple decision this week, it is like a bye week.

Seattle and Denver have so much future value that it's probably a big mistake using them, unless you're in a very small pool.

Every comfortable pick team this week has a decent future value though. SF plays IND, NO plays ARI. I guess you could take MIN v CLE, but LOLponder anyone?
