if the google doc works, we might wanna draft there, to keep the thread from getting super cluttered

i think we should collect a full year's fees at once at the beginning of each baseball season (since thats when were starting this one) and if a team drops out/becomes inactive, and we fill the owner, that owner just pays up for the rest of the year, we can just add that extra $ from the person who left to the overall pot. or something like that.

i also started my draft list, about 100 or so in, and realized a) this is gonna be awesome, and b) i know nothing about basketball

def pay for a year up front, googledocs doesnt have timestamps(only last edited afaik) tho so dont think thats a good idea.

I will be using google docs to keep track of the picks as we go. And so we can do searches to see if someone has been selected (gonna be key around round 40 haha). I would say easiest way to go is try to draft in thread as much as possible but always make sure to pm the team after you. For those at work who can't use 2p2 much they should be able to see the pm in email and just go to the doc and see they are up and who has been picked.

And yea. Starting my list too. Going to be super awesome and confusing. After years of baseball and football I am not used to going into a draft with so many strategy options.

i'll throw out a next thing to discuss, little things, and how id vote for them:

scoring/categories:

nfl - besides ppr/pass tds
- decimal scoring - i think this is essential
- defense scoring - espn defaults to include yardage allowed, i think it's way better just to do points allowed

mlb
- R HR RBI SB AVG K W SV ERA WHIP

nba
- im fine with whatever the default is/dont know it well enough to say otherwise

Yea. Looks like ppr wins in football. As well as 3wr. 6pt passing tds is leading but may need the last vote to clinch. Baseball looks like 5x5 roto (where score could be 6-4) and basketball is 9 cat roto. Also looks like 6 over default is the roster vote and 3rr is the draft vote. Free agent bids might need the last couple people to vote to win. And daily vs weekly is still really close at 5-4.

We can also clean up nfl rules and basketball rules as the season gets closer. If it doesn't effect the types of players you would draft we can figure them out before the first season. Just don't wanna get bogged down in to many votes.

72 round draft is sick, im totally intimidated right now, think im really going to struggle once it gets deep, esp in basketball.

but anyways, split into 3 24 round drafts? that would be ideal imo.

my suggestion would be to have a set time and then do it in a separate thread where only posts with draft picks are allowed. maybe 4 minutes per pick (or more for earlier rounds, less for later) and once time has passed the next guy can pick and the person passed over picks at any time when he gets back to the thread. could do this say 3 wednesday nights in a row or whatever when people usually arent busy.

I dont mind breaking the draft into 3 parts and doing it that way.. We could probably allow drafting before and inbetween those drafts also.. Something like we all find 2/3 dates in next month we are free and can do a draft. We set the dates and start the draft in thread then. We knock out as many picks as we can, with the knowledge that some people might be only able to pick once a day, so there will be some waiting. Hopefully this will give us a head start and let the teams kinda figure out a strategy they wanna use before they have to make lots of decisions quickly. After the first timed draft session, it would go back to slow draft in thread till the next date.

Just want to avoid trying to find 3 dates where 12-20 people are all available, cuz we cant really skip people without screwing them pretty badly. The more we can knock out in thread the less mini drafts we have to sched

how are you going to define who a minor leaguer is btw? since we're not waiting for opening day rosters.

profar for instance has a few mlb games played, but he prob wont make the opening day roster and id assume we'd want him in the minor league draft. bauer came up and got sent back down last year, but i think theres a decent chance he makes opening day roster. alot depends on spring training etc.

As for escrow. If everyone is good with it. Wes said he could do it. He did it more a ton of football leagues this year and paid quick. He said he can do paypal, bank of america or check. You can PM him for exact info.

def need a rule that if he accrues x amount of mlb time, you have to either roster him or drop him. pretty standard with minor league slots.

I would say you dont have to call up a player who hits his time, but you cant go into next season with him on your minor league squad. You can keep him stashed if you want, but you cant start a year with a eligible guy in your minors. That way we dont have to track when a player hits his service time except for beginning of the year. If you want to call him up, you can. And obv once he is up you cant send him back down
