I'm looking for a middle infielder, an outfielder and possibly a corner infielder. Probably don't need salaries paid unless the guys are very expensive. Need to be significant upgrades on Rollins, Maybin and Panda respectively.

On the other hand I will also listen to offers to sell. I have loads of elite year five options, so I could be persuaded to take a year to rebuild if I get the right offer.

Can I cut people now btw? Or have to wait until the cutoff?

K, so we have 11/13 answers on the survey, Karak and Thay3r still AWOL. I think we'll have to proceed without those guys. So, results:

-Annual salary increase: 9 votes 10%, 2 votes 5%
-This year or next: 9 votes next off-season, 2 votes this off-season
-Auto call-up on a traded prospect: 8 votes no auto-callup, 3 votes auto-callup
-Salary floor: 7 votes for a salary floor rule, 3 votes against, 1 abstention

Looks pretty conclusively like 10% salary increases, starting next year, no auto-callup on traded prospects in the majors, and we should look at a salary floor rule.

BTW, I gave the surveymonkey login info to Pecota so we can have verification.

Survey answers verified

I'll try and loop in Karak, he's technically still a commish. He'll likely be busy though. Thay3r gonna Thay3r. Survey results pretty conclusive though, no complaints from me.

Next up is how to implement the salary floor, there had been some good ideas earlier in the thread this off-season, I think I aggregated them into a single post.

For people asking about middle infielders and pitchers, Elvis Andrus, Jed Lowrie, and Matt Cain are all still on the block for me (and no, I won't be cutting them), preferably for a prospect, young player, or rehab project. Doesn't have to be a great player, just one that I find interesting.

One more rules question. Not trying to angle shoot hence why I am bringing this up now. I suspect this has already been asked but I am not reading all 5000+ posts. How would this play out?

An unowned player was promoted to his MLB team IRL and played some in 2013. This player has not exceeded the 130AB/50IP/20G rookie criteria as of now. Let's assume he is generally expected to stay on the MLB roster to open 2014. Can he be drafted in this year's rookie draft?

Also, I am not sure what I am doing with Matt Kemp (5/$149). I could eat some salary (although I'm getting a bit tight on that front) if anyone is interested in throwing something my way.

if he's unowned, and still qualifies as a rookie, then he may only be acquired through the rookie draft.
