I'll start, I realize in thread is not terribly efficient but whatever we gotta get moving on this stuff. So my votes are as follows

1) Abandon lightning round picks, if you end the rookie draft with less than 10 rookies on your roster so be it

2) Rookie eligible players can be picked up in-season provided they are not on a roster. They would be dropped at end of season and back into the player pool

3) Leave FA pickup rules as-is (first to pick up, can keep like any other player won in the auction .. second to pick up must be dropped end of season)

4) Leave at $100

5) Eliminate 5th place, where that $50 goes I don't really care

6) Not sure exactly what was suggested but I would favor anything in the 12-24 hour range

I'm undecided on this one as of now.

3) Handling FA pickups (change from 5-year contracts?)
Keep this the same, no change. I feel like our most recent tweaks solved the problems we were having here.

4) Buy-in - increase to $150?
Keep it at $100, no change.

5) Payout structure - eliminate 5th and/or other changes
Eh, I know I liked getting half the buy-in back when I finished 5th, so I'm leaning no change.

6) Trade counter window during rookie draft and auction
Would have to see the specifics, but I agree we definitely need to formalize the window for these types of trades. I think we did something like 12 hours for mid-auction stuff and it worked well. Also, not sure if it's specified in the rules, but we may want to clarify what types of transactions are allowed during these deals. For instance, I'm pretty sure you can't make cuts during auction, so that would be a limitation on the sort of trades that get made.

I'm fine with all of these, I would even rescind my suggestion to raise the buyin.

Only thing I'd consider different is the 5th place thing, I'd just tack it onto first.

Assuming the've gone through a draft and not been picked, I don't see why you couldn't keep them for a five year deal, but OK with them being released at the end of the season. I think not allowing players to be used is a bit silly.

2) Certainly it makes sense to have undrafted rookies pickupable; I'd lean on the usual 5-year contract but would be fine with a 1-year too

I think I would be more open to contracting if we added another Util position or something.

I kinda like freezing too; gives us a year to find an owner. The team has basically been frozen for the past year anyway due to SRM's neglect.

So we'd lock in the team's major-league roster, skip the team's minor-league rookie draft picks, and just keep looking for an owner? We can keep the $50 leftover as an incentive for next year's buyin, and just contract this year's payouts by $100. Then if we find someone mid-season they can jump in for free and get tinkering.

I think I'm against taking 100 out of this years prize pool. $50 is more than anyone else has ever received. I don't think $150 is warranted imo.

ND - don't we have to "take" or reduce 2017 prizes by $100? The 2017 prize pool is only gonna be $1250 (12 of our $100 buy-ins and $50 last place penalty) instead of the typical $1350

We have $50 to give as a credit to whomever joins so their 2018 buy-in is only $50.

By the way I am making no rookie cuts. Also I guess this makes me 1.1 and I am ready to pick whenever you want to officially start the rookie draft

Ok, gophils has been pm'd the league info and rules and stated he is in. Also he has been instructed to pay the $50 for this year and $100 for next year ($150 total) to Another_Rack.

Afro poppa would also need to do this.

So at this time we all should prob do the same, and pay our 2018 fees and get that out of the way ASAP.

i mean as long as he pays then yeah he's in we don't really have any other options.
