Basically instead of season long team you just draft a team for the current game week. All types of diff contests for money, can play people head to head or big tournaments.

I got 2nd 5th and 6th on one of the end of season tournies for about 6900 gbp. Personally on the season I made around 20k net, and I never played fantasy in any capacity before this season.

Its widely avail in the us but if you are in the uk there are fewer sites to play.

I hadn't heard of DFS until quite recently - it's not so big here in the UK yet, although I think it will grow. It's something I might look into over the summer, although there are definitely different skills involved. Planning a few weeks ahead is one of my favourite parts of FPL.

Ya thats definitely the hardest facet of season long fantasy. However you dont have much maneuverability once your team is selected. You dont feel as defeated if you make a few bad selections and arent as susceptable to captain luckbix variance. Theres way more stats to deal with for daily fantasy as well.

Also money talks. One of the main uk sites had a 30k gbp championship (the one I got 2nd 5th and 6th in). Its a matter of time before dfs just explodes in the uk considering how many ppl love fantasy and you can play for any range of stakes. Not to mention its addicting as **** and season long can get boring quick if you fall behind early.

So I'm guessing it was unlimited entries then? Are all these sites pretty easy to manouver and understand once you get going? I have fuzzy head syndrome. All very very interesting anyway.

No the MG 30k was max 10 entries per person, and you had to win a qualifier to participate.

Many tournaments have unlimited entries per player, but there is a cap on the entries for the tournament (this is because of gambling laws).

For example the 100k contest on DK had a cap of 370 entries ($300 an entry).

For getting around the sites it is pretty easy. Mondogoal is a newer company so they are working on Quality of Life updates as they go. Draftkings is more of a finished product, but only available for US players.

Mondogoal has the best scoring system for soccer in my opinion, and they are only lacking in lineup management and late swap currently. They are the next 2 features they are looking to add and should be in by next premier league season.

For the premier league they have a weekly $100 freeroll which is a great way for new players to get their feet wet before they start risking money.

Truth be told I started on Statclash with $0 playing only freerolls and now my bankroll is about 20k (some aggro bankroll management early on when there was lots of overlay on draftkings).

I actually had never played fantasy in any capacity until this year, and only joined the FPL because I wanted to win the men in blazers title belt hah. Within the first week I was completely addicted and went down the rabbit hole of research. Decided I wanted more because there is only so much you can do with regards changes when you have 1 xfer a week so searched for DFS leagues since I knew that was a big thing for NFL in the US. If you like regular fantasy sports you'll be addicted to Daily Fantasy like a crack fiend (I have serious withdrawal at the moment).

I'll be updating my site a bit over the next few weeks so it will have some good advice for beginners to help get their feet wet and not lose their money right away hopefully.

Sounds way more fun than poker anyway. Time to investigate for next season.

I was listening to the Football Ramble podcast from my sun lounger today on holiday and had a lol when I heard Gaston Ramirez' Dad won their league. Great comedy football podcast that, check it out.

The research is fun, ive learned an insane amount about the game since I started. There are some down times when research is done and theres a day or two before games where its boring waiting.

FPL is now open for the new season. FYI I have decided not to admin the leagues this season, just don't have the time for the high hassle no reward this time round. Time for someone else to step up! If you need any advice feel free to shoot me a pm

what about if everyone chips in and pays a small admin and escrow fee? say $10-25 each for the $200-$500... would you consider it then?

I'm sure everyone who isn't a compelte life nit would be willing to pay that and its only fair for the hassle you go through

Ha, that would be great ($10 a man for high stakes would easily cover it) but I don't think I can escrow it anyway. I quit poker and hardly play on stars anymore. Does anyone know what the play through requirements are for transfers? If it's only that you have to buy in for the amount then that would be no problem but if you have to rake a certain amount that might be hard. If someone clarifies that then I will consider it. In the meantime anyone else feel free to step up

actually are there any restrictions as long as you don't cash out? Can you receive whatever amount and then send it out again without having played through it, anyone know? Maybe someone ask stars, prob not a good idea for me to ask for obvious reasons

i think thats only for cashing out (99% sure)

i would be fine with some kind of admin fee obv

Yea you cannot cashout funds directly received from a transfer. I would also be willing to pay a small admin fee (I'll only be playing the $50).

These 2 terms worry me though :
A sending User agrees that they may only make an account transfer to enable a receiving User to play the Games and not for any other purpose.
A receiving User agrees that they may only use the funds from an account transfer to play the Games and not for any other purpose.

I think it would be fine if you just played occasionally on stars, but if you've completely given up I'm not sure. It's fine for me, as if I won I would be using the funds to solely play poker.

They also say : Limits on transfers will be set by PokerStars per User.

The fact you recieve all the money in August and don't distribute it until June, you will be fine as long as you play at least some poker, like say 20 mtts in 9 months.

Don't directly ask them because of course theyre not going to understand, but recieving all the funds and then not distrubuting any for 9 months you'll be totally fine as long as you use stars at least a tiny little bit.

If you are happy to do the admin with the justified small fee then just make the usual start up thread in the usual places when the time comes mate. Just make it clear that its part of the buy in and I'm sure not many will be put off by it. We need our Fantasy crack.

I was in a league last season run by someone called Samo or something, who I heard run a league one year on here in the past? I'll try and find out if he's up for this escrowing malarky if you decide against it

I'll prob play 50k hands and some wcoop/scoop over that time so sounds like it should be fine. Never thought of it before since I always had 50k in there and was playing daily. I think I will ask for a flat 2.5% for it, I'm not a greedy person, it's just that 2 years for free is enough and I know how long it takes (and how everyone pays the night before!) If some reg comes and offers to do it for free then no worries otherwise I will put the post up in the next couple of days

Wow 50k hands and wcoop/scoop, nothing to worry about! I thought you meant you were just going to play a few $2 Spin 'n' goes once every month!

If you are doing the admin and the escrow, nobody could complain if you ask for 5% of the buy in.

Also I was a little annoyed with myself when you mentioned people tipping you back on payout at the end of the season, I should have done that! Then I reminded myself that you luckboxed me on the final last man standing day and I was content again

On a side note what do people think about the new FPL features

ALL OUT ATTACK
TRIPLE CAPTAIN POINTS
PLAY ALL SUBS

Bit more variance, its not such a huge change so I'm not bothered

Played last year and can appreciate the admin involved must be time consuming at best. 2.5% is perfectly fair. Certainly lower than Pokerstars rake anyway

I'd be worried that charging an admin fee will hurt entries. I've played a lot of money leagues over the years and never paid anything. I wouldn't mind paying a small fee as I think I'm +EV in the event but I do think it may hurt entry figures for more casual players.

I'm prepared to admin for free if people want. I wouldn't be able to escrow big $ though so it would still leave that headache.
I've admin'ed a league on here before. And also one on Blondepoker last year (and will be again this year). I'm TheDazzler on there.
I add in cup comps that people find fun.

All entry fees would stay the same, the 2.5% would come out of that so I don't think it would hurt entries at all ($1.25 out of a 50!) I'm not fiending to do it at all though so be my guest if you want to step in. I'll leave it a few more days to see what happens here before I go ahead with starting a thread
