I'm honestly not a big fan of any of those guys unless your in a 2TE or TE premium league thats too early for graham. I would really be looking at WR but by the sounds of it a million went off the board in the first and second

I guess it depends how much you do. But a lot of the stuff you do for regular you'll do for DFS anyway. You're already going to know your favorable matchups, so then it's just looking for good value in DFS.

yep, a lot of the research overlaps between season long and DFS.

DFS you are going to be researching for more short term edges (matchup based, opportunities for players via injury or suspension) whereas season long, those things are less important.

I will do both this season for the first time and I just finished my dynasty league startup draft... which I imagine (outside of dynasty IDP leagues) requires the most research of pretty much any type of league so I think I got the bulk of my research done and now its just down to refining and making adjustments based on reports from camp.

In ppr and keeper league how close is:

Forte/Olsen for Ellington/Graham

First side obviously more stable, but second side has the youth side

Keeper league I'm going with the second option. Barely. Gonna have to bite the bullet this year though.

thats honestly 4 guys im kind of down on this year as a whole... I think Forte is on the way out, Ellington proved he cant be a 3 down guy and David Johnson is getting good reviews from camp, and graham goes from one of the pass heaviest teams in the league to one of the run heaviest... I guess im more indifferent on Olsen...

All that being said I would prefer the first side of this trade by a decent margin... you get a 1st rounder and a 6th vs a 3rd and a 4th/5th

The keeper aspect for me isnt particularly relevant because none of these guys are really appealing keepers unless graham somehow morphs seattle into a passing offense.

I guess the keeper aspect matters in what round picks you'd be giving up to keep them? Forte is not a 1st rounder anymore. Graham still has red zone value, it's not like he won't be the second best TE in the league. Ellington is fine for what he is, a Jamaal Charles clone with half the touches though. I like Olsen, but he's in that tier of wait-and-grab-a-TE later on still. Close call to me, but I'd go second option still based on youth.

I should've clarified, it's a dynasty, so just keeping without penalty

I currently have forte/Olsen and I think it's close with the long term aspect. Although my team is very much built to win now (finished 1st in regular season last year, 3rd in playoffs)

Well those rounds were actually just using ADP not personal opinion (and actually olsen is a 5th in PPR). Forte will probably remain a first in PPR though.

IMO Graham is a lot closer to the pack of TE's then he is to Gronk and being a standout. To me the difference between Gronk and Olsen is much smaller than Forte to Ellington.

Jamaal Charles with half the carries by the way is 103 carries... if thats the case then its definitely the Forte side. Thats without even factoring in David Johnson stealing work from Ellington, the possibility of Johnson winning the job outright or Ellington getting hurt again.

To be fair the best keeper prospect is certainly Graham... but we don't really know the rules of the league (how many keepers, what penalties) but I doubt Jimmy will be the number 1 or even number 2 guy you want to keep next year.

Just my 2 cents on it.

edit: so just posted and saw its a Dynasty league.. that definitely makes the trade closer... and if you have David Johnson or can get your hands on him I think that would sway the trade for me

Ellington can also catch the ball, not just carry it.

All good points, and I do agree on the gap between the players you listed.

I think forte is done after this year.

Dynasty? Definitely the second option then.

FFC is goat mock site. The draft board is super clear and shows you all picks so you can see who has drafted who instead of clicking back and forth between rosters. Also ime it has way fewer trolls compared to espn/yahoo/nfl.

in most years there's not a huge amount of movement in the first 20-30 picks barring preseason injuries, any sort of hype trains will usually affect the mid-late rounds more. seems sensible to get early takes on what sort of position combinations work better at certain spots in normal drafts

I've never really found that to be the case. I find all the mocks I do early are wasted as ADPs change drastically in preseason. And then I find myself scrapping all my old plans that are no longer valid. That's just me.

Draft day is like Christmas to me. At least in my big money league, it's an all day event. Love mocking. Sorry, I became distracted... Alcohol, what can you do, eh? Lol.

looking for feedback on a potential dynasty/10 man keeper league trade. scoring is 6 point passing tds, ppr, and we start 2rb, 3wr, flex

I send Russell Wilson, pick 1.01 (so gurley or cooper), Sammy Watkins and cordarelle Patterson for aaron Rodgers, cobb, marshall and fitzgerald. current roster...

qb: Wilson
rb: lamar miller, doug martin, Charles sims
wr: Antonio brown, Julio, Sammy, lafell, Patterson
te: kelce

Im leaning toward accepting bc its a dynasty league with a "blowup" provision where the league ends if a team wins 2 championships in a row or 3 total and two teams already have two. so although im given up younger players for more established players, its not as big a deal since the league probably wont go on for more than a few years.

seems fine I would like to see you work for an RB but arod is worth way more than wilson in 6pt passing TD leagues...Russ falls down the ladder in those leagues... Cobb > 1.01 for a couple years and losing sammy kind of sucks but if you dont think the league is going to last that long I would do it for sure... even if it was gonna last a long time I would probably do it.
