Yahoo doesn't announce a date that YPLs start, right?

Just whenever they feel like it basically?

if its anything like baseball they will tell us that YPros are set to open in early August, and then they will actually open after Thanksgiving.

this group of running backs is atrocious.

If you dont have some RB lottery tickets on the bench then i would look to deal for a RB that catches - this team looks like it can win now, so even an old like Gore would be a major improvement
it is 12 teams but yes those r the starting requirements. my rbs were McCoy and ellington so I downgraded rbs some but improved the rest of my team greatly. im pretty high on lamar miller, he finished as a top 10 rb in ppr last year. I will prob try to package crowell or martin with one of my wrs for a rb upgrade.

our rookie/free agent draft is this sunday so ill obv look to add some rb lottery tickets, although I don't have my first two picks (traded for Julio)

Bush's 40 catches gotta go to somebody

It seems like this guy could steal the 3 down role in Detroit if everything falls right. Still, I wonder if his size(205) and slower 40 (4.56) times will make him just another great college back that can't cut it in the NFL
I like Abdullah's potential a lot. Where to draft him depends on league settings mostly. (The more PPR and the dynasty-ier your league is, the higher you should draft him. I have him in the second tier of dynasty rookies, between 5-8.)

Not sure where the idea that 200+ pounds is not big enough for a running back has come from. 40 times are one of the more useless combine measurements for determining playing speed, as well. Abdullah's agility and fluidity is excellent and he's a natural receiver.

ourlads.com is the best, although it's more useful for determining overall starters than fantasy starters. it's especially useful during the preseason after cutdowns and waiver claims and such.

-if you're not looking a year ahead, you're falling a year behind.
-when in doubt, draft talent over assigned role. talent creates opportunity.
-when in doubt, draft players from a good offense over players from a bad offense. good offense creates opportunity.

eta a corollary to point 2: use your late round picks on players with high upside. guys who end up with decent season totals by consistently putting up backup numbers each week are worthless.

QB - Tannehill (10)
WR - Nelson (2), Sanders (4), Matthews (6)
RB - Ingram (3), Miller (5)
TE - Gronkowski (1)

Bench
WR - Charles johnson (7), Cruz (8), Davante Adams (12), Reuben Randle (14)
RB - Blount (9), McFadden (11), Kh. Robinson (11), Jonas Gray (15)
Gronk rated as a WR10 last year, has an injury-riddled past, and Brady is suspended for four games. I don't understand the hype with him. He's even worse in PPR, so I don't know why people always bring that up? He only caught 82 balls last season.....

The talent at WR is insane this season and the risk at RB in the first round is at an all-time high. I might even just go WR the first 3 rounds in every draft. I like the RB pool in the middle and late. With so many teams going to a running back committee it makes more sense. I'm an old school guy, too. I used to always just take RB/RB first two rounds. The NFL has changed and fantasy has changed.

So you would take a wr number one overall?

WR depth is the reason I'm considering Gronk so high. With Gronk, my WR3 will far outperform whatever TE I would have drafted later.

May not work out. Trying again. I'll post. I've never drafted a tight end high and curious.

If I get #1 in a lot of leagues I'm probably happy to trade down myself.

How about this as a Pro League scenario for selecting Gronk 1st? I was 6th, 15th, 26th...

QB - Roethlisberger (8)
WR - Jeffery (3), Matthews (5), Johnson (7), Wallace (10), LaFell (11), White (12), Stills (13), Moncrief (14)
RB - Anderson (2), Ingram (4), Stewart (6), Hillman (9), Freeman (15)
TE - Gronk (1)

For instance, can't I expect Charles Johnson to outperform Zach Etrz who was picked right after me. Kelce, Olsen, Julius, Graham, Bennett were already gone.

Amazed how many RBs are available later. Is this common for Pro League drafts or just something that comes up in mocks?

i realllly dont want to put a huge amount of effort into this year as i have in previous years pre-draft since i'm mostly going to be focusing on DFS this year instead of season long leagues.

Is there a solid site that has decent pre-draft rankings? numberfire? fantasy pros? football guys? Also debating on just taking projections from those 3 + projections from yahoo/ESPN and combining them all and doing my own rankings. But, that's work.

Need to make some dynasty cuts to trip roster from 20 to 15. Which 2 of these 7 do I keep? (.5ppr, everything else standard) I am somewhat balanced at RB/WR, and my only other TE is Jimmy Graham.

RB Jonas Gray (NE)
RB Toby Gerhart (Jac)
RB Ray Rice (FA)
WR Mohamed Sanu (Cin)
WR Marquess Wilson (Chi)
WR Dwayne Bowe (Cle)
TE Mychal Rivera (Oak)

What's the best place to play best-ball leagues? Top factors are percentage payout and softness of competition, with draft/site usability a somewhat more minor consideration.

Dwayne Bowe and Toby Gerhart taking up space on other people's rosters has to be a net plus. Rivera is a definite cut. Probably Rice. With Marvin Jones back, Sanu shouldn't be a factor. Torn on Gray. Not sure if he's in the Gerhart boat or if luck lands him fantasy relevance. Wilson is the only one you can't cut until Kevin White shows he can play.

id cut rice and rivera and not think twice about it. rice is never going to play in the nfl again, let alone ever be fantasy relevant, and rivera is a replacement level TE, aka someone you can pick up in FA

What makes you so sure Rice never plays in the NFL again? there are a ton of guys who have done worse. sure Rice's situation was more public but hes done mostly the right things afterwards.

If Rice plays, that's a good thing for someone else to have him and feel like they can't cut him because he sucks now.

No one is investing a high pick in him, if he pans out he will be very good value especially if he ends up somewhere like Dallas... I doubt he is getting drafted in redraft leagues before the last round if at all.

I have him stashed in my deep dynasty league because if Dallas picks him up I have an instant top 10 guy. And we know Dallas has no qualms with picking up controversial players.

Yeah he was bad the last season he played but I'm not sure that definitively means he "sucks".
