The more observant among you may have noticed that upcoming fixtures (from this weekend onwards) on both the master sheet and the individual entry sheets contain hyperlinks to the FA's new match previews. This is because I import the fixtures directly from the FA site and they've recently begun adding links into all their material, but it would be pretty easy for me to remove them. Do we want to keep the links or remove them?
In other news, LOSTRICH SURGES INTO THE LEAD with 2 games to go for January's MOTM. Unfortunately one of those games involves Everton, so we all know how this plays out.
I've just been going all draws recently in the hopes that I'll score about average and maintain my lead. Hasn't worked so well in last couple of weeks though, maybe time to start mixing it up.
I'm leading April's MOTM and I'm in contention for both the highroller and the overall comp at this point, so I'll be PMing my picks to S.K. in advance from this weekend forward so as to remove any question of unfair play (since I can see everyone else's picks in advance and could theoretically adjust my own picks accordingly).
Regarding the Euro 2016 version, I think it's best to go with a straightforward "pick all 36 group games in advance" system rather than risk the cluster**** of multiple people all attempting / forgetting to edit their own sheets every day. It means we don't get to include the knockout rounds, but it makes the competition a lot easier to understand and requires less effort from everyone (myself included). I'm thinking the buyin should just be a single universal $10 or $20 so as to maximise the field size; that's unless there's any strong interest in a higher stakes tier?
Bump for final week drama. Pretty much looking like one of me or kingweed will take home $908 and the other $102. I'm 22 points ahead and think I've been top pretty much all season after binking a few of the early shock results, but the lead's as small as it's ever been and kingweed's been eating into it for the last few months. Good luck!
My 'strategy' (if you can call it that) for this game in recent months has just been going all draws and hoping to maintain my early lead. The one weekend I deviate from that ends up costing me the title. Congrats to kingweed on the win.
yeah, pretty rough way to lose. It's been a good tough comp this season, and as is traditional, I bubbled the main pool.
Kingweed wins both the main pool ($408) and Highroller ($500)
Thesilkworm is runnerup in the main pool ($102)
May's MOTM prize goes down to the re-scheduled Man Utd v Bournemouth game, with S.K. shipping the $34 unless United win, in which case Kingweed nicks it by a single point.
gg all! I'll have the Euro 2016 version up and running by the end of the month.
