So I am doing a 10 person lesgue where each person selects 3 teams at the beginning of the year (ie nats, pirates, phillies) and the person with the most wins by his 3 teams for the whole year wins the pot. Every team is only picked once so no teams will be left over.

My question is would a snake style draft be best? Or would there be some other way that may be better. Like you get the 1st 17th and 25th or something. Not sure how I would figure it out or if anybody does something like this and has any ideas.

A snake for only 3 rounds doesn't seem like it would be best.

I would think that 1st and 20th would be better than 10th and 11th in this format, so I would probably punish 1st and 20th with being last in the 3rd round (30th).

Basically do something like make the following pick sets:

1,20,30
2,19,29
3,18,28
4,17,27
5,16,26
6,15,25
7,14,24
8,13,23
9,12,22
10,11,21

Then to make things interesting, draw names from a hat and whoever gets #1 chooses which of the picksets he gets, and #2 can chose from what's left etc...

So ended up just going with everybody having pretty much the same average pick.

1,15,30
2,16,29
3,17,27
4,18,24
5,19,22
6,20,21
7,12,28
8,13,26
9.14,23
10,11,25

So everybody has an average pick of 15.3 or 15.6. We will see how it goes.

Team 1 — 1st pick, 20th pick, 26th pick
Team 2 — 2, 16, 29
Team 3 — 3, 13, 30
Team 4 — 4, 18, 25
Team 5 — 5, 15, 27
Team 6 — 6, 19, 22
Team 7 — 7, 11, 28
Team 8 — 8, 17, 21
Team 9 — 9, 14, 23
Team 10 — 10, 12, 24

So this is how it went down. I did 65% of the pot for most combined wins regular season only. 25% if your team wins the world series. And 10% if your team loses in the world series. No trades.

1,15,30- Washington, SF Giants, D'Backs
2,16,29- Angels, Padres, Rangers
3,17,27- Dodges, Indians, Twins
4,18,24- Cardinals, Brewers, Reds
5,19,22- Red Sox, Yankees, Mets
6,20,21- Tigers, Braves, White Sox
7,12,28- Pirates, Royals, Rockies
8,13,26- Orioles, A's, Astros
9.14,23- Mariners, Cubs, Rays
10,11,25- Blue Jays, Marlins, Phillies

Think this is gonna be fun and make the season more interesting.
