Hello, fellow players.

I recently just started playing dfs soccer on 1xbet (russian bookmaker). And this spot occured yesterday. There was 4 games in the line to choose players from. All from Brazil Serie A. One of the games was Cruzeiro - Sport. In the roster they had 2 players from Cruzeiro:
Willian for a price of 32M:

And another player from Cruzeiro also:
Willian Gomes de Siqueira for a price of 4,5M:

Sorry for the images in russian but you get the point.

Now i thought i was buying Willian from Cruzeiro but i chose the more expensive option (he was higher on the list). But it turns out my Willian didnt even get points for the game compared to the second player getting 20 points. So who did i bought? Is it my mistake or the site offered a non-existing player? Should i write to support to try and get a refund from this match-day?

From how i understand the site offered a non-existing player which looks more like a Chelsea player. And i mistakenly bought him because it said he was from Cruzeiro. They didnt credit him any points because they thought he and Willian Gomes are two different players?

If the site do not indicate which player it is with a shirt number then you might have a case, but there is a photograph of the player next to his name. Could a reasonable google search have found this?

I don't see the photo of Chelsea Willian.
I would go to support. Offering a player that isn't a part of the 4 games is unacceptable.

Now I found the photo, but Chelsea wasn't part of the 4 games.

Yeah i see you point, but what right has the site to let you choose a player whose team wont play on that day? And putting him first in the line of players as the most expensive option? Therefore misleading everybody into buying him? And to answer your question when you choose players on that site it only has the name and the name of the team next to him written. When you see Willian from Cruzeiro you think you're buying the Willian from Cruzeiro not from Chelsea right?

Yeah it is very dubious from the site, but is likely either poor planning or lack of effort on the part of the site.

If there is no shirt number and the photo is wrong (or the player on offer is not playing) then the site has a moral responsibility to help its userbase, which they are not upholding.

For me this is a clear error from the site, with proper fail safes not in place.

Good luck with your case, I personally feel you are owed a refund for any non-cashing lineup with him in (assuming the player they listed was simply not playing). Maybe the site should also introduce player numbers.

I would research their governing body as a backup if the site say "no".

Out of interest, were there other players listed who did not even play that night? If there are none, and there is this one mistake, then you have a real case.

Further research shows that there is only one Willian at Cruziero. He is also white and born in 1986. This is a clear mismatch from the photo (of Chelsea's Willian).

If the site offered two "Willian" players from one side, then they made a real mistake. Let us know what happened, I am interested.

Well, long story short, i wrote to the support and it worked. It took them some time but they made corrections to the results and my Willian also got the same 20.61 points as the "Willian Gomes de Siqueiro"
I'm pretty happy with that since i didnt lose that much money on that day. After the corrections my profit is 31,72 - 38 (buy-ins) = -$6,3

But the fact remains that the contest wasnt really valid since you could buy the same player for a much cheaper price and build a better line-up (bad move on my part).

Yeah, Support have shorted you here in my opinion, you would have had 17mill or so to spend elsewhere, they should give you and all players affected a full refund for losing lineups.

I also think it is shady that they can change the results after the event!

Funny enough i only created a few line-ups with Willian in them because i thought he was a very sub-optimal option given his price. Of course my bad for not noticing a cheaper option but yeah had i known it's the same player i would have picked him in every line-up probably. And in general i would have built better line-ups so its a waste of a match-day for me. At least not much of a loss in $$$.
