exactly. there is almost certainly something more nefarious going on here.

I just hope this all works out for everyone. Too many good people in this industry + DFS is hella fun. I sincerely hope they decide to stop being a trillion dollar company and just offer an elite product tons of people will enjoy.
They are beyond that point imo.

Bit of an oddball question, but say the **** hits the fan and DFS is banned. Anyone have any vibes on whether our money is safe? As someone who is still waiting on my full tilt money due to a panic cashout on black friday, just curious what others opinions are?

Withdraw now if the money means anything to you. Why take an additional risk?

I'm pretty confident funds are safe.I don't think the drunken sailors aren't completely running the whorehouse like they did at FTP/UB/AP.

Only pretty confident though.
If I had any money on there that would have an effect on my life if I lost it, I'd withdraw it.
You gain zero by leaving it there.

I think this situation is different from Black Friday because so many deep pocketed companies have relationships with DK and FD. I think they could make up for any shortfalls that the DFS sites might have. Seems likely that these corporations are already seething about these developments and wouldn't want to have their phone lines jammed by angry DFS depositors.

Yeah that's basically what I was telling my wife. Was just curious what others thought, don't have a huge significant amount on there but if I do hit for a score I'll definitely be cashing out a bit while before today I probably would've just re-invested

Lots to gain by leaving money on. This year or next year is likely to be the softest DFS season ever and there are only 17 weeks of NFL DFS. This is likely to go on for a couple weeks at this point so if you are +EV and dont keep enough of a roll on to play right now you're passing up one of the better opportunities we will see.

So DK/FD who have "key employees" with full-time jobs whom they would not be able to employ without allowing them to play on other sites, and need the ability to enter multiple lineups at other sites have decided that allowing scripting is in the best long-term interests of themselves or the industry? How about making more usable front-ends instead?

I want this industry to last but it is reaching its limits right now, it will not be long before the commercials cannot attract more customers than those who are leaving, and a big part of this is the sites are too short-sighted to realize that customers are not infinitely replaceable.

FanDuel has banned all of their employees from playing in any daily fantasy games for money and will not allow any employees of other daily fantasy sites to play. Gonna be interesting to see if some of these guys in question will quit to keep playing or stick to their jobs.

Well, if the gambling industry has taught us nothing else over the years its that if given a fair chance gamblers will always come back. And this is pure gambling. But when you have a billion $+ industry, no regulations and apparent douchebags running the show it is gonna be rife with corruption, angle shooting and scandal.

If this industry survives it will be under tight regulations and an infusion of grownups will have to start running things. On the plus side there are a lot of big respected corporations and individuals backing these guys. But a gambling concern with billions of dollars of individuals money has to be regulated and managed with the utmost of integrity and that hasn't happened.

I see the future going one of 2 ways. They just squash it because it is nothing more than gambling or they successfully start to run these places professionally with governmental oversight which opens the door to legalize similar gambling ventures like sports betting and online poker.

Assume the squash scenario. It's much easier and risk free for pols to ban or vote no.Their ass is covered and if something goes wrong they can crow about "protecting" their constituents.

Can someone link me to the source of the claim that the top 1-2% win all the money in DFS? I'm not necessarily doubting it, it's just that I've seen it posted here by several regs and the claim afaik is totally unsourced.

The article I read a few weeks back claimed something along the lines of "the top 10% of players win 90% of the money" which sounds different than the top 1-2% winning virtually all of it.

2% of the people winning most of the money seems high to me honestly and not low. Way less than 2% of the players are pros/regs and there's of random rec players. But I mean why is that surprising? That's what I'd expect from most skill games with huge player pools that require work to win in.

I think that 2% number came from a 3 month study that only covered MLB.

I'm curious if theres more data that covers NFL, NBA, etc.
