Logged into Stars tonight to sweat an old non-American poker buddy who told me he was deep into a MTT and the usual "American's can not play on our site for real money" prompt was updated to "American's can not play anything for real money on our site other than DFS"

Despite looking around, I couldn't find any DFS offerings. I immediately shot off an email to support looking for more info but haven't heard back yet. Is Stars offering DFS now other than Victiv/StarsDraft?

They've been pretty much dead in the water after pulling out of all but 4 states a couple weeks after the Ethan mess and afaik nothing has changed. I'd imagine they're waiting for a little more legislative clarity to decide if and when and where they do come back. They were tweeting a bit before the NFL season and I got the impression something might be cooking, but nothing really came of it, yet.


I'm not super bullish on a new peak but I think there is a possibility if we have a perfect storm of not losing many/any important states in the next couple of years (and this includes bad regs) and a new leader to emerge and market this thing to it's full potential. Of course PS isn't the old PS most of us remember so fondly, so I'm not sure if they're the answer either.

They've got sports jackpot since two days ago(?) which is kind of fantasy, but americans can't play anyway, so that's probably not it.

Heard back from support and yeah it was unfortunately just a reference to Stars Draft

The way the message was worded I thought it was some kind of new entity but sadly that is not the case

I guess that answers the question, "Will there be dfs golf when DraftKings and FanDuel merge?"

Just heard about the mess of a scoring system on FanDuel. I can't even figure out what they are thinking. If you think it is illegal work it out when you merge. Don't start contests that are terribly set up and will drive players away. Plus there will be some huge overlays because there is no way to mass entry. So basically they will lose money, some sharp golf players will rack up some money and they will drive away any casual player golf fan who has a FanDuel account and wants to try out dfs golf.

What's so terrible about it? Of course the droolers over at RG hate it, it's different, but other than it being a "total crapshoot" now (which is what the losers say about all forms of non-crapshoot DFS that they can't beat) I haven't seen any specifics.


One positive, and I don't play much golf but this seems like a big one in these huge field GPP's, there's like a bazillion more possible combos now.

what dont you like about the scoring? seems fine to me, though i dont really know what i'm talking about with golf.

also you can mass enter/edit on fd now

Separating into round 1 & 2 and round 3 & 4 while still getting the same win points makes no sense. If one of your 3 & 4 round guys misses the cut you are done, you are scoring zero points. When you have 6 golfers all in the same game you can cash with a solid 5/6 or even a very good 4/6 making the cut because your MC guys still score some points. There is also a huge difference between finishing second and fifth. But on FD you get the same amount of points.

You need 8 guys to make the cut on FD and 6 on DK.

I guess in reality you only need your 3rd & 4th round guys to make the cut since the 1st & 2nd round guys will at least score points.

so I'm going to go out on a limb here and say i like the new FD golf scoring. I'm going to go out on a further limb and say its the first "innovative" thing I've seen in DFS in a while. This may seem like a silly statement, but i put more thought into how to construct GPP lineups than i have in a while.

Has there been any movement on Fanduel and DraftKings coming back to Nevada ?

I thought the golf scoring was idiotic and can't imagine wasting time on it again.

They would need to apply for a NGCB licence and have shown no interest in doing so.

I wonder what other people who play dfs and poker seriously do during WSOP?

And do the sites seem less traffic during wsop?

So if someone ran deep in a WSOP and hit on dfs they wouldn't say anything ?

I remember last year people were saying they'd drive to the border to set LUs during the WSOP.

It's summer so I'd imagine volume is slower than normal but last year the MLB games I played seemed normal

Also, couldn't you make your lineups in Vegas, and have someone else submit them for you in an approved state?

My question is. What happens if you do that and than ship a gpp and run deep in a wsop tournament?

So your asking if it will draw attention to you? Is there even a rule prohibiting what I'm suggesting though?
