It kind of annoys me when people go right to the "it's skill game" argument.

Not that that argument isn't true, but it comes off as defensive and makes it look like you're trying to keep it legal on a technicality.

In reality instead of arguing merits with him, he should just be getting mocked and laughed at for caring about this at all.

He's actually pro sports betting.I think he's pissed that feds ko'd NJ sports betting which would benefit his district directly (Monmouth Park,Freehold Raceway) while DFS thrives. It looks like a case of "If I can't play nobody can."

If MA bans this to protect the lol lottery like they tried to do with poker I am going to be so pissed off.

This is a good point. Probably more a case of why the government should have the right to prohibit wagering.

I have to say, I don't understand how sports betting isn't a "game of skill". Or even blackjack - even if it's not possible to tilt the game in your favor it's possible to lose money a lot more slowly by playing skillfully.

One thing that tilts me a bit is when people are extremely insistent that DFS is not gambling. It's just a dumb semantic debate - if you use the technical legal definition then sure it's a "game of skill" and not "gambling" according to the law. But if you use the everyday definition of "gambling" it's clearly gambling.

Hi Joe, I'm a SuperLobby contributor: why don't you trust their numbers?

+1, and I had no idea a shared player pool was even remotely close to being a thing. Very cool.

So I finally join DFS, I signed up with draft kings..... HOLY ****. That's about all I can say. How did this get so popular so quick?

I remember when poker star introduced the "Sunday million". I remember thinking.... wow a million dollar prize pool ever week. Draft kings has a 10 mil prize pool..... for $20

If this is any indication of what the Americans can do to a player pool, Poker Stars should be fighting very hard to get the USA players back into their player pool.

unlike poker tournaments, in DFS tournaments you can have more than 1 entry. thus, larger prize pools

Yea I see that now. But I still think it's amazing how quick this has grown. But poker tournaments do have re-buy and re-entry

Where or how can you see or figure out the rake on Draft Kings?

I'm in a $2 MLB 10x Booster [Top 5 Win $20]
$100 prize pool
It says 57 entries (but I see a lot of multiples) Where does the rest of the prize pool go?

Entries * entry fee - prize pool
57*$2 - $100 = $14 of rake

How about when you add in the multiple entries?

That should already be included in the "57 entries" figure.

OK, I'm starting to understand. Seems like the rake is rather high, yes?

It's at least 10% (in 50/50s and H2H) and can be up to 16% in some of the GPPs.

Gotta pay for all those commercials

DK had a half hour show/commercial after the Met game on Fox yesterday. Amazing... This could have been online poker... #dreaming

Did DK change the structure of the gpp's from 20% to 33/50% making the money ? Further diluting the payouts.
