3.9 Ryan Braun

Despite being a miserable person, Braun is a very solid across the board guy in fantasy. Happy to get a third rounder with a very high likelihood of .290-85-25-85-15. Getting up there in age but good value in a redraft imo.

2.4 Noah Syndergaard

My #1 in the non-Kershaw division. He throws very hard and his Ks and HRs allowed are incredible. Potential elbow issues a concern but he is young and while it may be a bit of a reach, I didn't want to miss out on an ace.

My only concern with Braun is the ever-present possibility of suspension time. His numbers are very obviously worthy, but I generally don't end up drafting him.

Definitely an issue, and I have never drafted him in a league before. But he is worth the risk here imo. I had a bunch of guys I considered here, was really hoping Cruz would fall. Oh well.

3.10 Giancarlo Stanton

Probably the hardest person to value for me this year. Just seems like the end of the 3rd is a good time to gamble on a guy with so much upside. Will definitely be looking at an extra solid OF to add than I normally would.

He's been healthythe last two years, the park is great of course but the lineup is good around him as well, and I'm looking at something similar to 25+ HR, hit around 280+, and put up 80+/85+.

my biggest fear with braun (besides the health) is the likelihood he's traded. i'd have a lot less consideration for that if i didn't have to use such a high pick to get him. assuming he plays all year in milwaukee (and obviously doesn't get hurt) though his likely output makes him a steal here

I don't mind Sale terribly (you know, for a starting pitcher). Think the improved defence will be good for him and the offence will produce more Ws (like it did for all BoSox starters last year). I know the strikeouts reduced, but there were a lot of reports of pitching to contact on purpose to preserve pitch counts, so this might just be a new normal.

4.3 Xander Bogaerts SS

Really good fit for me here. Probably. 300/20/10/80/80. I think there's also potential for both his hr and sb numbers to be higher depending on where he fits in the line-up.

4.4 Ian Kinsler

Unlike Braun, I seem to always draft Kinsler. Solid power, decent speed, and very reliable. Year in and year out he fills up the stat sheet well.

4.5 Ian Desmond

He has been a 20/20 player 4 of the last 5 seasons and now he gets to play 81 games at Coors. 30/20 with a .280 average doesn't seem unlikely. At this point, I am drafting him with intentions of moving to 1B once he gains eligibility.

Kluber is probably the most safe pitcher to me in the group after Kershaw. My only concern with him is the post season innings.

Sale's rising fly ball rate in Fenway could look the same as David Price last year.

4.6 Buster Posey

I don't mind pulling the trigger on Posey in the 4th round. Talent at catcher is few and far between, might as well take the guy who should put up the best season.
