I'm keeping Lindor. The more I watch him the more I think he's a top 5 fantasy guy next year and you'll get tons of surplus value for 5 or 6 years probably.

Probably pretty even and mostly about team need. Baez is the better talent on a better team but doesn't play everyday and usually bats 9th. Harrison will have a better average, bat leadoff on a lower run scoring team, and play everyday.

Manaea has a higher ceiling, but comes with more risk.

Depending on who the other SPs on your team are, I could see an argument for both sides, but I like ceiling so I'd go with Manaea probably.

My other SP's are Scherzer, Cole, Wacha and Leake. So I am a little lacking in depth. I have a few good relieves to help with ratio's and K/9(not a category but with an IP limit that I always reach so it's helpful) in Betances, Miller, Melancon, J Wilson.

Longo, Grandal, Bradley Jr, Mazara available. Could drop Bregman, Conforto, Owings, or Perez (for Grandal). Any seem worth? Leaning Mazara for Owings or Conforto, but unsure of anything else.

Im not dropping any of the guys you have right now, except Perez for Grandal.
Although I think Id find a way to roster Mazara too... have any RPs you can drop?

Yeah, I have Familia/Giles/Kintzler/Maurer/Feliz. Guess I could drop one of them, but it's H2H, and like having only 1 bench bat unless it's a big pickup. Right now, OF is Braun/Ozuna/Trumbo with C Davis and Conforto or Owings in Util (or someone else bench), so not sure how much impact Mazara will have.

Id pick him up just to see if he can adjust and rake like he did the first couple of weeks. I dont like holding bench bats either, but I make an exception for high upside breakout candidates like Mazara/Conforto/etc.
If nothing else, they may allow you to make a trade to upgrade at SP or somewhere else on your roster.

anyway, marwin gonzalez since the run is on

i mean he legitimately has a HR/FB of 50% so let's go ahead and get over that nonsense, but his stats are actually pretty interesting. like, literally out of nowhere he learned discipline. 5.9% BB rate was the highest in 5 previous seasons in the majors and even in the minors he literally never had a stop that demonstrated he could take a pitch, but so far he's swinging at SIGNIFICANTLY less pitches

one problem is he's swinging at significantly fewer strikes. maybe his pitch recognition is a lot better and he's running bad on borderline takes, maybe he's at the plate with a mandate to take pitches no matter what which is pretty useless all things considered

the other problem is he's hitting grounders like a mother****er which obviously does him next to no good so all things being equal if nothing changes he's going to be decent in an obp league and absolutely terrible in an avg league, so i guess picking him up comes down to a few questions:

1. how much do you value a player who gets fairly regular playing time and has eligibility at every position (you should value this a lot tbh)
2. do you believe in his plate discipline renaissance? i mean there's nothing, literally nothing to suggest this is reality but it's also been 78 PAs, which while less than 100 is still fairly close. idk. i tend to buy it
3. do you think he'll hit more line drives and fewer grounders? this is the one that's hardest to answer since his approach at the plate is CLEARLY enormously different than anything he's ever done at any point in his career so there's no real idea what adjustment looks like here. his batted balls profile could be here to stay, his gb/ld ratio could normalize, or he could scrap it all and revert to what he was forever

i dunno. my impulse is to pick him up if you're in a h2h league simply because his positional versatility is a key asset for a bench hitter to try to maximize ABs. in a roto i can't rationally bother with him
