Lots of butthurt in one of my leagues because the teams that are out of it are "dumping" their good players in order to gather quality keepers for next season. Currently the only measure we have that discourages this is you get a better draft position for finishing higher (1-3 get paid, 4th gets first pick choice next season, then 5th etc). Anybody have any interesting rules that helps with this situation? FWIW I'm one of the dumpers, but I understand why the guys in second and third are sad that the guy in first now has Bryce Harper.
I used to run a casual league in which I had a 20 point (roto) lead on July 31st 2015 and traded a bunch of top dollar stars for the second place team's $1 Bryce Harper, figuring I'd lose some of my lead but help my team for 2016. The guys in 3rd and 4th loudly complained and called it collusion. I ended up winning by two points and folded the league up, even though I was set up to completely dominate the next season. Barely talk to them anymore.
The rule: Fantasy isn't fun if people are too dumb to understand the strategic ramifications of your trades and friendships are generally too valuable to waste over that kind of pettiness.
