starting to plan now for 6 weeks from now is just not gonna be productive. some random RB with middle name xzaviar could be the #1 RB by then, there's no way of really knowing.

i guess dont trade julio or fitz? and be prepared for beasley to drop off when dez comes back?

I don't place a high value on playoff seatings since the top 8 teams are fairly close in total points. The only value of starting so well at this point (that I can see) is I can potentially make some nonstandard moves in order to attempt to adjust my roster to be as competitive as possible when the playoffs start.

Any tips for how to think about this or am I nuts to even give it any thought (PPR league btw)?

current roster:

Drop Henry for a playoff D imo the moment you see one you like

Dolphins vs Jets would be my pick (week 14 you already have Bengals vs Browns)

they ran him out of the backfield a lot last week, wouldnt be surprised if they did that a lot more. he's not gonna be an RB and just take dive plays, but theyll use him in the backfield

I think I'd rather keep Henry.

He's the best rb1 lottery ticket out there in case of injury. Imo

Thats what I'm kind of hoping. It would be nice if he took over with fresh legs right before the playoff start

id assume he meant hunter harvey, since you dont really need 2 TEs

ah, makes sense, thx (still rooting, perhaps against all logic, for D Henry to break out by years end).

current roster:

I usually carry 3+ defenses for the playoffs. Probably too early for that unless an actually good defense like BUF is available

I would have never thought to do this, that's the kind of ideas I'm looking for.

I haven't played FF in 15 years so I'm rusty as hell

Thx!

thats a good tip, i just like doing things like that around week 11 or so (assuming playoffs start week 14) keeping some bench spots clear for handcuffs, emerging guys, injured QBs, etc.

Thx, I agree, I'm just trying to wrap my brain around the kind of strategic thinking needed going into the playoffs so I can begin to think how to arrange my team in case opportunities present themselves.

Is the logical move to stick with one QB through the playoffs or try to keep a backup on the roster?

Its been so long, I cant remember...can players be picked up off waivers once the playoffs start or are you typically stuck with your roster once they start?

I almost always hate having >1 QB at the start of the season, but, as with defenses, grabbing 2 QBs for the playoffs is generally a good idea - assuming you're targeting the right guys. I'd try to sell Stafford if you can - his playoff schedule sucks (NYG, DAL). Rodgers' schedule isn't great either (before even considering that he's not a top 5 fantasy QB this year). Rivers has a decent playoff schedule. Maybe try to trade Stafford + Fitz for Rivers + WR upgrade (perhaps Evans, who plays the Saints twice in weeks 14-16).
