Also, you cant use max innings in H2H because you cannot predict when RPs pitch.
For example, if all your starters are done by like Wed and you hit the IP limit, you are at a huge disadvantage in Saves and/or Holds.

One of my leagues with pitching limits uses 9 starts per week, the other uses 10.
I guess it depends on how big your rosters are.
How many SPs does the average team roster?
The leagues Im in decided on 9 and 10 because most teams roster 7-9 SPs, so each starter is guarantee a start, with room for a couple 2 start pitchers.

I would say 8-10 sps. For your setting 10 seems tight as that'd only allow like 3 2 start pitchers at max.. maybe I'm wrong

I think a good rule of thumb would be 1.5x number of starting pitchers that n average team in your league has. This would allow teams to stream a couple of guys when their team doesn't have a lot of two start options, and at the same time not penalize teams who naturally have a large portion of their team with 2 start weeks. If you are doing a start limit I would keep the weekly transaction limit a bit higher.

Also, any particular reason why your league has 8 bench slots and only 5 pitcher slots? Since its h2h as you mentioned a lot of pitchers are going to be rostered. It feels like having so few pitcher slots could cause a lot of people to stream. Is it common in your league for people to have to bench pitchers on day they start, or relief pitchers? If so, it would be even more +EV than usual to stream

Bench depth and sp sp rp rp p p p slots are legacy things and I can't change that unfortunately. People generally load up on more marginal SPs as bench guys

im putting together a plan for a modified fantasy baseball format im calling "Weekly Roto", if this is something people are interested in and you (Bluff, or anyone else, since i dont have any rep. with escrowing on this forum) could help escrow that would be great. Either $100 or $50, not sure yet. I'll post details later once I get a more solid plan but just something to mention. It will be a daily league but with fewer moves per week than standard

I don't want to do too many leagues and I imagine that if i do manage this weekly roto format league it will be a lot of work, so please just consider me a waitlist or reserve for that weekly league

The idea for the format is that you will be matched up against all 11 other teams each week, and your score for each week is based on your Roto ranking. For example if in one week you place
1st in HR, RBI, R,
9th in SB,
10th in AVG,
4th in W and K's,
8th in ERA and WHIP, and
10th in Saves you will get

12 + 12 + 12 +
4 +
3 +
9 + 9 +
5 + 5 +
3

= 74 points for that week.

At the end of the regular season, teams with the most points will make the playoffs, which will be (2) two-week long matchups of this similar "Weekly Roto" format.

ESPN will be used to track stats, hold rosters, etc, and I will use the message board to track and update standings each week.

Is this something people would be interested in trying? The goal is to create a league format that captures the excitement of H2H but rewards a great week more equally to how well your team does, and is less based on whether you get matched up against a team that had another great week for example.

-there will be weekly minimum IP limits and a hard cap on maximum starts, to prevent people from mass streaming and from trying to lock up 12 points in ERA and WHIP for a week with a single perfect relief outing

I like that and would add a league to try it out, why don't you post that in my thread and you can commish the daily roto league while I commish the weekly league.

I need some guidance. I won my league last year by being lucky the last week. I need to figure out who to keep.
I get 6 keepers in this H2H league. It's 5x5 scoring. No rules on keepers at all, just need to keep 6 or I can trade a keeper slot if I want to.
These are the candidates:
Cutch
JD Martinez
Prince
Adam Jones
Sano
Bogaerts
David Price
Lester
Thor

Cutch, JDM, Jones and Sano are must keeps from that group. Beyond that I haven't paid much attention to the rest but I'd probably lean Price and somebody.

Probably price and Thor if there's no limit on keeping someone

Cutch
JD
Sano
Bogaerts
Price
Thor

Im not buying into Jones health or ability to hit like he did at his peak. Id prefer to keep the 23 year old SS who is already a solid hitter and could turn the power up.

.378 BABIP 4% walk rate and still no evidence of power

Im taking JDM over him

And both JDM and Boegarts over jones (and only taking Boegarts over jones because in this format it seems like a lot of ss's will be off the board)

Isnt that what i said?

Not sure if you were responding to my post, but what you wrote is kind of confusing. You mixed Jones BB% with Bogaerts BABIP.
Either way Im def take JD Martinez over both of them

Kinda surprised by being against Jones ... may see if someone will be willing to trade for him

Rays trying to trade Loney to have Dickerson DH most games...interesting way to keep him healthy and going

Dickerson might actually be a pretty good value with everyone scared of the move out of Coors and that gimpy foot.

**** just writing that makes me still want to avoid him.

I don't think its being against jones as much as boogie is a better keeper

Granted, his stats weren't terrible outside of Coors but the Rays offense is absolutely awful and his power outside coors was mediocre at best which makes it likely terrible at the pinball machine

The prospect of getting 160 games out of him is intriguing but I have no hope for him at all

Thoughts on the draft? Whose team is best, worst, etc (hopefully that sheet is right, a pain to manually make a table)
