Who do we like today?

Im looking at:

Multiple Jazz players vs Houston. Lots of possessions, no defense. I especially like Hayward because Harden is a sieve and even more so against bad teams.

Marvin Williams could be a nice pick as well, especially for the price. Staying away from their point guards because thats the one place Houston has been defending well mostly due to Beverly.

Also looking at Chicago players. Noah, Hinrich, and Snell.

NBA has been extremely inconsistent this year compared to last year. Guys just can't put together back to back games, coaching rotations are random, and the news of injuries seems to be late coming in. I did really well last year, this year I'm about break even. Going to have to come up with a new strategy.

Eddy,

You're absolutely right. I just took a 3/40 in cashes with two lineups that put up scores of 288.75 and 301.75 on DK last night. I play mostly 50/50s too. The craziest part is the 301.75 lineup is the one that didn't cash in any contests.

I despise hoops! Baseball season can't get here soon enough.

Fanduel I had 343 using a lineup that had harkless get me a 1. First was 382 I believe. I swept all of my matchups, but getting 343 while getting a 1 is pretty sick. I use middleton or Beasley I probably have a decent cash.

last night all my lineups scored in the 320 range and I lost $35 across all sites lol. trusted vegas that nets/nuggets wouldn't be a blowout and ran with Lawson over MCW.

Are you comparing the end of last year to the start of this year? Maybe things clear up as the season goes on.

Man brutal to not be able to swap out anyone from the Spurs game. Didn't find out it was postponed until like 4 minutes after DK locked it

I am going to sweep everyone of my matches tonight because of that game. The fair thing is to just refund everybody whenever there is a cancellation for any sport but baseball.

Man, that policy stinks. Luckily I still swept at DD, but got hurt at Fanduel. Most likely would have crushed tonight too.

Will be interesting to see what happens. A refund would be good PR for sure but expensive. I'm not really expecting anything.

Been running so horrible lately. MLB season cannot come soon enough.

Well all of my money is in my account, so I'm assuming they didn't do anything. I'm not going to say I handicapped that, but I never use players in a game in a new venue.

Are there sites that allowed you to sub after the games start?

I had Duncan/Diaw so the rest of my lineup didn't even matter...silly me expecting the NBA to find an arena that wouldn't spontaneously combust. Withdrew a giant chunk of my Duel roll out in frustration...may look to play elsewhere.

Honestly, what happened last night is just apart of the variance of daily fantasy sports. The policy as it stands is fine. You can't just disqualify a full 8 game slate because one of them is canceled. I can see merit if it's a 2 or 3 game slate, but definitely not for anything with 5+ games.

It sucks and it's unfair, but it's an assumption of risk you take when you roster a lineup. That's why it's a new season everyday. Get back on that grind tonight.

I mean no...

An arena caught on fire FFS...this isn't a baseball game getting rained out or someone getting sick just prior to the game.

This is alienating to newer/smaller stakes player...making no effort to at least give some sort of freeroll or SOMETHING is pretty greedy given the absurd amount of rake they make.

Yeah it's impossible to account for something like that. I think NFL, NHL, and NBA should be refunded in the event of a cancellation just because it's so rare. Baseball is part of the research. Can't count a venue on fire as variance.

You cant fully refund though. Way too expensive. Could bankrupt a site.

Also I don't think any of these sites are really turning a profit yet.

You are VASTLY underestimating how much money these sites make.

In revenues, maybe. Not in profit. They are reinvesting it all into customer acquisition, marketing, and overlays.

I dont mind it, mainly *because* its so rare.

Here's a question to some people that have been doing this for a while. How much to you adjust your strategy for each site?

Fanduel's structure makes it really hard to find a solid lineup for me vs Draftday. Its seems like they really make you pay a lot for a star, and give way less leeway to being consistent. Its fine on days with a big slate of games, but its suffocating on days like today.

Am i imagining this? Are there sites with better structures? Is that even a good thing?

Not one DFS site right now is profitable. If you posted on any of the DFS forums you'd know that.

First, just because it can't be forcasted does not mean DFS players should be protected from it. Your position is a knee jerk reaction to something that maybe happens once per season in all sports.

Also most of the sites are offering free rolls. DK is giving away free $1500 seat and I think DS is putting added money into some of their GPPs.

Last, a lot of people treat DFS like investing (portfolio theory for building lineups etc) and like investing you can't be protected from all risks.

Where do we draw the line? Last week I got fcked bc zbo held out with injury that no one knew about till after game started... should whole slate be cancelled? And I be refunded. Of course not.

This is my cheat sheet for comparing sites for NBA
Multi or single means if players are eligible at a single position or multiple
50/50 or DU means if the 50/50 contest are 50/50 where in a 100 man field 50 get paid and they rake the payout ($10 buyin 100 player, 50 players get $18) or if the rake spots in a double up ($10 buyin 110 players, 50 players get $20)

also keep in mind on DS, they dont have PF SF PG SG, only F or G
