2012 FF mock draft thread

I think we should have a separate thread for posting mock drafts for analysis as to not clutter up the main thread which can be for everything else (i.e., theory stuff, breaking news, etc).

also, for whatever reason, people seem to get pissed when we include mock draft analysis in with 'real teams' so i decided to make this different from the rate my team thread. MODS: feel free to move it there, though, if you think the 2 threads should be one in the same.

anyway, when posting a draft for analysis please be sure to include:

-number of teams in league
-scoring rules (to make it easier 'standard' is 4 pts/pass TD, 1 pt/10 rush or rec yd, and 6 pts/rush or rec TD)
-starting lineups (2RB/3WR, 2RB/2WR/1flex, etc.)
-any other random league rules and/or background info that could affect draft strategy
-where you picked

heres my first one of the year. FFC 12 team PPR with 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 W/R. picked 1st and was busy with other stuff so really wasnt paying attention. plus no cheatsheets or studying or anything. so its probably pretty bad. but still im putting myself out there for ridicule lol.

1. RB Rice (also considered shady and foster)

honestly not really sure about these 2. next to go off the board were RBs SJax, FJax, Gore, Turner, and WRs Marshall, Dez, Julio

48. TE Hernandez
49. WR S. Smith

in retrospect probably would have taken harvin. next to go were WRs Austin, Britt, Nelson, Colston, Harvin and RBs BJGE, Greene. intuively i feel like this is great value for hernandez here but havent looked at any VBD stuff yet so really not sure about that.

72. QB Romo
73. WR VJax

a huge RB run came after i made these picks including Hillis, Tate, Spiller, Ridley, D. Brown, Ingram, Blount, Starks, DAW, JStew. yes 10 RBs and Jacob Tamme lol.

I think Rice is spew. He hasnt signed yet and I dont think he usually puts back to back years up. Also I think Foster is the de facto number 1.

really like gerhart at 97, he could end up being very productive, esp early on. also really really like sproles at 25 in a ppr format, that looks like one that slipped thru the cracks.

in ppr, for sure (although mccoy can be argued as well). i have rice a very solid 3 in ppr.

def love the depth on this team. its built to play matchups and survive on bye weeks and can withstand and injury or two here or there.

having said that i think its a tad too weak for a 10-teamer. in a 12-team competitive league i love it though.

also u didnt mention lineups or scoring.

sick value 1st 5 rounds. i might have tried to address TE earlier than you did, though romo there is decent value anyway and using a try-to-get-a-reasonable-TE-really-late approach is certainly fine. curious who was otb at 63/82/87/106. those are the only picks i might go another direction on.
