Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball Thread

Id go ahead and put a claim in on Dunn anyways

You can always trade one of the 3

WTF? I mean, I know Dunn's average is bad but Smoak is right there with him. We don't count strikeouts so I really don't see a clear reason for the swap.

P.S. Damn me for owning Fielder and Freeman already.

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball Thread

today i dropped adams for youkilis, dropped arcenbia for ellis, dropped burnett for middlebrooks and picked up santos to stash on the dl. my roster (5x5 h2h) currently sits at:

c: ellis
1b: edwin
2b: craig
3b: beltre
ss: hanley
of: trout, bourn, melky
util: ortiz, willingham
bench: pagan, youkilis, middlebrooks

sp: sale, lynn, santana, peavy, price, worley
rp: johnson, hanrahan, casilla, chapman
dl: austin jackson, santos

i have nobody that i consider droppable for when jackson gets off the dl (pagan is the closest and wtf at dropping him) so the first order of business is to make a 2:1 trade

1. trade beltre and pagan/willingham for an ace, play middlebrooks at 3b
2. trade pagan/willingham and craig for a 2b
3. other

rank the following catchers: arcenbia, saltamachia, ellis. my 0.02 would be 1. ellis 2. salty 3. arcenbia but i'd like confirmation
I kept Salty over Ellis...not convinced Ellis will keep the power up.

what the hell, how in the world were both Youk and Middlebrooks not even owned?
Is anyone paying any attention in this league?
even in my shallowest 10 team league, those 2, plus Ellis, Arencibia, and Santos are all owned.

but i think your best answer is:
Quote:
1. trade beltre and pagan/willingham for an ace, play middlebrooks at 3b
I wouldnt trade Craig. Hes a legit power threat and not many 2B can put up the power numbers hes capable of. Just gotta pray for no injuries!

FWIW i own Freeman and I tried to trade him straight up for Dunn and got insta rejected. Granted that was in an OBP league, but still, i would find some way to add him. 40 HR/100rbi players dont just fall out of the sky every day.

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball Thread

the fact that you even had to come ask if you should add adam dunn blows my mind

in my leagues the time it took to write ur post someone else would have grabbed in that time and i would have lost him

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball Thread

Got an offer sent to me:

I give Brandon Phillips and Daniel Hudson
I get Drew Stubbs and Jeff Samardzija

I've been complaining about wanting to get rid of Phillips for a while now because he's useless since I got Kinsler. So losing him means nothing to me. The real question though is whether Hudson is worth losing...

Worley is starting tonight? No rehab start? Well, he'll be back to the DL shortly.

What you talking bout, Willis? I didn't ask for add/drop advice.

P.S. He's stuck on waivers until Thursday anyway. :P

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball Thread

prob zito i think

hes got terrible rates 5.3k + 3.8bb/9 and has been pretty lucky judging by a lowish .237 babip and a 5.00 xfip.

kinda sux to drop anyone who pitches in the NL west tho, cus of all those terrible lineups they get to face.
