Id definitely go with Conley.

Re: 2011-2012 Fantasy Basketball Discussion Thread

Could Greivis Vasquez actually be good (fantasy wise) the rest of the year? I picked him up as a spot start when Jack went down and have both on my roster. I can hold on to both this week because my opponent is horrible, but I'm really curious to see how this plays out when Jack gets back.

Extremely small sample, but Greivis is averaging 17.5ppg/9apg/4rpg/1.2spg/1.5 3's in 4 starts since Jack has been out.

Re: 2011-2012 Fantasy Basketball Discussion Thread

Vaquez is the real deal, but I doubt he'll ever get full starter's minutes once Jack returns. I'm watching daily reports, and hoping to pick up Jack again once he's healthy. I think Vasquez will end up splitting a lot of minutes with Jack, though, so it's not like he will have no value.

That's a man making the most of his opportunity. Baron Davis may regret his "take it slow" attitude.

Re: 2011-2012 Fantasy Basketball Discussion Thread

Keeper league where I am surprised I am contending this year...This is my roster, normal stats, keep 4 no cost...

PG Brandon Jennings (Mil - PG)
SG Kevin Martin (Hou - SG)
G Mo Williams (LAC - PG,SG)
SF Jason Richardson (Orl - SG,SF)
PF Danny Granger (Ind - SF,PF)
F Shawn Marion (Dal - SF,PF)
C Spencer Hawes (Phi - C)
C Roy Hibbert (Ind - C)
Util Marcus Camby (Por - C)
BN John Salmons (Sac - SG,SF)
BN Kevin Garnett (Bos - PF,C)
BN Trevor Ariza (NO - SG,SF)
BN Landry Fields (NY - SG,SF)
BN Al Horford (Atl - PF,C) INJ
BN Jason Kidd (Dal - PG)INJ
BN Brook Lopez (NJ - C) INJ

-----

So since I am in 2nd overall out of 12th, I'm thinking I need to go for it this year, so trading Horford is a likely means to that as we have no IR spot.

Is getting Paul George and DJ Augustin for Horford and like Salmons enough value? Or do I need to get more?

Should I try and move Brook as well?

Re: 2011-2012 Fantasy Basketball Discussion Thread

I'm not really up on keeper leagues, but isn't it kind of early to be making decisions for next season, already? Of your current roster, here's probably who I would keep, as of today:

1. Jennings
2. Martin
3. Granger
4. Hibbert (close 5th would be Lopez)

We all know foot injuries really suck in the NBA, so I would be waiting to see what happens with Lopez (who's behind schedule in rehab), before making any final decisions. I also think it's important not to get bogged down in current stats, but to try to look for people who have repeatability, or through the roof type potential (like Hibbert). I felt like Augustin was having a really good year, but his injury has been pretty painful for a lot of my leagues, since I took a flyer on him in my drafts, because of the potential I saw, last year. I'd wait to see what he looks like when he comes back. I hear lots of good things about George, who I haven't seen play yet, but don't know how that translates to next season, yet.

I don't have to make any decisions yet. Just wanted to see if thats enough of a return for Horford.

Re: 2011-2012 Fantasy Basketball Discussion Thread

Is this for keeper league considerations, or is it just as a trade this season? Horford's speculated to be out for the season, so I can't imagine anyone would want to make a trade with you for during this season, for him. In a vacuum, I think Horford and Augustin are probably somewhat similar in value, but for totally different things.

Re: 2011-2012 Fantasy Basketball Discussion Thread

Depends on how you look at it. I have a few teams in my league who are very thin and want Horford for a keeper. They wouldn't select him as one until next preseason, but they would have him to keep if they so wished.

So I'm thinking since I am doing so well and my keepers overall aren't that great, I need to make a move for a run right now. I think George and Augustin are enough, I just wanted to double check.

So deal would go down right now, but the keeper choices wouldn't happen for months.

I don't see how moving Horford would be a bad idea in that situation.

Yea, the only downside is my keepers likely suffer, but its not like Horford was top 10 or anything.

PG Brandon Jennings (Mil - PG)probably your top player KEEPER
SG Kevin Martin (Hou - SG) extremely solid KEEPER
G Mo Williams (LAC - PG,SG) keep an eye on his minutes now that Billups is out for the season MINUTES WOULD DETERMINE IF HE'S A KEEPER ALSO BILLUPS' VERDICT NEXT SEASON
SF Jason Richardson (Orl - SG,SF) clearly on the decline
PF Danny Granger (Ind - SF,PF) not had a great season but is a very good player KEEPER
F Shawn Marion (Dal - SF,PF) old and doesn't get a lot of minutes
C Spencer Hawes (Phi - C) not getting a lot minutes or a lot of production, and seems injury prone, based on my limited information about him
C Roy Hibbert (Ind - C) tons of potential KEEPER
Util Marcus Camby (Por - C) very old, but very productive in a couple of categories
BN John Salmons (Sac - SG,SF) getting old, not much production
BN Kevin Garnett (Bos - PF,C) old, production down, but we all know how good he is at his best
BN Trevor Ariza (NO - SG,SF) very inconsistent
BN Landry Fields (NY - SG,SF) not much production, has potential, but probably not in Knicks system long term
BN Al Horford (Atl - PF,C) INJ he's a solid player, but you never know how big of a deal his injury will be
BN Jason Kidd (Dal - PG)INJ older than dirt
BN Brook Lopez (NJ - C) INJ foot injuries for Centers...oooooh, keep a close eye on him, plus keep an eye on what happens with D. Howard, EVALUATE AS KEEPER AT END OF SEASON
I saw what I would consider to be 5 good keepers on your roster. One of the biggest problems with your roster is that your team is getting old, which means their results will probably diminish with each passing season. Then, others will have playing time issues. I'll bold what I think about each one. Sorry if you aren't interested in that kind of analysis.

Re: 2011-2012 Fantasy Basketball Discussion Thread

I am always interested in more analysis so thank you for that. I know my team is old, thats one of the main reasons I'm thinking of moving Horford to make a run NOW while I can. But at the same time If I do that, I lose one of my better younger keeper options.

Also been offered Kemba Walker for Spencer Hawes. Problem being I am fine at PG. How much does Kembas talent override the position scarcity?
