2011-2012 Fantasy Basketball Discussion Thread

i guess it's time to get started!

i'm in a 10 team keeper league, h2h std 9 cat yahoo format, where undrafted pickups can't be kept, and you have to forfeit a draft pick 2 rounds earlier from where player was drafted to keep them (so 1st and 2nd rounders can't be kept). you can keep as many players as u want. also you get to choose your draft slot with priority going to the best non-playoff teams then to the playoff teams (so 7th picks their spot first, then 8th, then 9th, then 10th, then 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st). draft is ABBA. finished 7th so i'm choosing the 1st overall pick

my final roster of eligable franchise players with the cost of the round in ()

augustin (10)
derozan (13)
calderon (7)
maggette (9)
westbrook (2)
bosh (1)
blatche (4)
griffin (5)
monroe (12)

for sure keeping griffin, monroe and derozan.

not sure how augustin plays out with walker and not sure about calderon

would westbrook be worth it for the 20th pick? blatche for the 40th?

any thoughts on augustin/calderon/westbrook/blatche would be appreciated

What are the better fantasy basketball sites (analysis, not league hosting)?

Re: 2011 Fantasy Basketball Draft Discussion

im gonna create one on espn, no money up as i have never done fantasy basketball before and im english so we know shweeeet fa about basketball but i have been watching for a year now and getting pretty into it....

(my girlfriend is from florida...... kinda got roped into supporting the heat before i knew who was good or bad.... do i run good or not.... hmm)

i guess the best form of league to do would be head to head?? i might create 2, a h2h and a season long one...

edit..... someone else want to do it as there is some stuff that i dont know which is best to do?.... or i could just wing it..seems better if someone else does it tho

I would keep Westbrook -- good point guards (and more specifically, assists) are really hard to come by. He has potential to be a top 10 fantasy player. His only drawback is he doesn't put up many 3PT and has low FG% (but most PG do). Blatche is okay to keep as well but he's probably fighting McGee for stats again this year.

Calderon and Augustin both suck drop them both.

Re: 2011 Fantasy Basketball Draft Discussion

Got laughed at when I 'reached' for Blake in the 4th round last year, ended up making the finals and then losing ugh.

My team name = "dick in a boxscore" with my avatar being jtimberlake in the suit/box getup, pretty solid iyam

Re: 2011 Fantasy Basketball Draft Discussion

Westbrook is a snap keep. He will definitely be picked before pick 20. Id keep Augustine too. I actually like Calderon going into drafts a decent amount, but not for the 71st pick I don't think. Might be different in keeper.

Also Id love some suggestions for websites and twitter accounts to follow for fantasy basketball.
