Re: Would You Run it Twice?

If I'm playing high stakes PLO I generally always run it twice if the opponent asks. I suppose if I had a slight preference in scenarios it would be to only run it once when I'm the underdog, but ultimately it has little impact on expected results after a zillion hands.

Re: Would You Run it Twice?

Whenever I am playing live cash game I try to use the "run it more than once" thing as much as possible.

However, my experience is that vast majority of live players have no idea what running it twice is and if explained to, don't understand what is the point of it so they insist on doing it the "old-fashioned way"

Re: Would You Run it Twice?

Basically, you shouldn't be playing at stakes so high that the P/L on one hand affects you financially.

And if it doesn't impact you financially, why are you bothering with running it twice?

Cheers,

S

Re: Would You Run it Twice?

Making deals is deff a Texas thing...for sure!

i play too much, and the fish as well as the grinders are all my friends... I deal, run a game and play

Everyone @ the table is ether in my phone book, or someone that I just met...they get added if they're cool, I make playing headsup for stacks kinda like lets make a deal! I always edge them into some sort of cash option, or "Pinging" the loser...if I'm behind...or drawing...and running it as much as they want no matter what...sometimes I don't stop the dealer to ask for the deal...depending on the opponent/some guys that call me to much I will never entice the deal, but will always accept "running it X times"...just depends on where action stops and who the opponent is.

As far as the Aces thing...this actually happens a lot... When I'm the one with aces, I don't explain the equity split, I was in a home game, just getting on the table its a 1-2, i pick up AA with $300 to start the hand, drunk iDtarD duDe shipps $200 with $50 left I turn over my AA without even CALLING/Raising, I tell the dealer to chill out for a sec..I tell drunk boy that he can have the FIFTY dollars and that he will lose and that he should give me the pot and consider this me being nice!!! After some debate he says ok! I tip the waitress to bring him another dosXX dressed and he was happy!
Some time before that I had a dude that didn't want to take the cash deal, I might have offered him close to nothing...so I got him to run it 3 times instead...I'm running it 1 time or 3 times with AA vs anything if we're all in preflop and he tells me what he has and I tell him what I have...we can both still be lying...but we're still in the hand! I never like to show my hand till after the river especially if the player is unknown....ESPECIALLY when there is a deal going on that is only a cash deal!!! Some players only make deals after showing the hand and negotiating... Most players trust me enough and take my word and agree to something with me...I might say, "u wanna do something or just rip it?", every once in a while someone actually says, "That depends on what you have!" UGH!
I've actually made a cash deal in a hand where both of us lied about our hands, saying that we had AA we both had AK @ showdown

sorry for the rant
