Hey Everyone,
This is a pretty basic spot and we all come across this a ton everyday!! I would really like everyone's thoughts on how they would play this hand differently and the "Why".. I ended up folding which is very nitty but my gut said to fold. I would normally double barrel but this player has only called 1 3Bet pre in about 100 hands. Thoughts appreciated!!

-Thank you... Cheers!!

I'd bet ~.60 on the flop.

As played I think your turn fold is quite exploitable. If I knew you were doing this I'd float you with just about anything, but you know the opponent better than I do so do your thing.

Yeah this is the first time I 3bet the guy.. but yeah I exploit the **** out of players who 3bet a lot and I float the flop a lot. Really profitable play.. what stakes do you play?

good fold. he has a lot of aces in his range. I think your bet is ok on the flop too; maybe a little less to be called by worse.

Here's a question. Say you don't have QQ here and 3bet some other random hand in your defending range. How often do you barrel the turn? You have plenty of A X hands in your range. You're often barreling the turn with strong aces and check calling with weaker as a bluff catcher.

I'm check calling the turn and probably check folding the river unless it's a Q.

Random thought, don't put too much stock into stats at this level with this few hands. There's not a ton of BTN vs Blind posturing at this level. Basically 89 hands is 15 or so orbits so your sample is pretty small.

A fold is both quite exploitable and perfectly reasonable. There's lots that beat you (any set, A2s-A6s, 45, and plenty of players will call flop with almost any ace which button vs small blind isn't even necessarily wrong.

Of course you beat any flush draw, 44, 55, 6xs, there's plenty villain can turn into a bluff, but players tend to underbluff at this level. So I generally prefer fold, but you can't just always fold, or you'll get run over.

That's my thought.. this is the only 3bet he calls in 89 hands.. what does he really have?? I would check call or barrel the turn if he was calling 3bets a lot.

If your line oop is 3bet and then barrel only if no K or A appears on the flop i would keep this line.
Consider the plop did not hit much his range (lets say 15-20%?)
so when you bet he can float you with at least half of this. A2o-A5o,Ato+, A2s+, Kh9h+, Qh8h+,Jh8h+,JTs+, KTo+, QTo+
Thjs considering he opens a lot from btn as the stats shown.

So. Cbet is Okay vs this villain.
Now when the A appears it does not give much to complete more than an Ax that called.
So you can. Check/fold, check/call, check/raise or just shoot 1 more bullet to maybe do another on the river.

The line will depend the villain and our own stats.
But if you plan to check fold in the presence of an A or K, you should check flop also imo.
