Trouble Hands

In all holdem games, which hands do you think are general trouble hands? Which hands have brought you the greatest losses and why?

JJ can be a tricky one but the one I see overplayed alot is AK it does have a lot if equity against most hands but I've seen so people stack off with it on dry flops in the micros.

Re: Trouble Hands

Offsuit broadways tend to get me in most trouble, pretty much non-pair hands without an ace kicker. It's difficult to get away from top pair because it's usually the best hand in holdem, so by the time you find out your kicker is no good you have already paid off the better hand or have invested a lot of money.

99-JJ seem to be also difficult OOP in 3 bet pots when they are an overpair as you are guessing whether or not they are bluffing. If you lay it down, you are never sure, but if you call down you see the better overpair a lot.

Re: Trouble Hands

KK has got me more than any other 2 hole cards. I have , of course won many more times with them than not, but at my level, My losses with KK have been memorable enough to rate them as trouble cards as well! I needs to play better too.

Re: Trouble Hands

if you play tight, you wont lose too much with any hands... but low pairs are really vulnerable... dont play over your hand's equity. NEVER!

  3. JJ on the bubble

Re: Trouble Hands

The first question is a question that hardly as an answer. And if it had, it would be as general as is the question since you have not specified the circumstances at all. Not to mention that we are lacking the definition of the term "trouble hand"

Therefore, If I really HAD TO answer this question, my answer would be something along the lines of "The bottom of the range I play in the given spot" since those are the hands you are most often getting into borderline situations with. I would also probably add "for immediate value" to that answer since pocket pairs and smaller suited connectors in multiway pots are in most cases quite easy to play.

When it comes to the second question, that's quite easy to answer - the hands that bring people most loses are those trashy ones they fold when on the blinds and are facing some kind of an action.

sick join date and post count

i think its hard to say any one hand is a "trouble" hand, it depends too much on stacks positions villain etc.

like AJ vs a nit could be a trouble hand while AJ vs a whale is the nuts.

i dunno just my 2c

Re: Trouble Hands

I play limit holdem. Whenever I'm in a wide range heads up situation I have trouble with T, J, Q, and K high. Free showdown please?
