Something is seriously wrong if UTG, or any other non-blind position is losing for you. Simply folding every hand is break-even, shoving Aces and folding everything else is winning. Surely you can come up with a better strategy than both of those.

Re: Position versus First mover's advantage

I think in PLO in like a 4bet pot, with a PSB behind, where you know the other guy has aces it can definitely be an advantage to be first to jam. The other guy then has the tough decision to call off his aces or fold. If you have like 50% against aces, shoving first in is obviously better. And if you flop a lock you can check/call....
is there any sense in this?

I don't think there is, no. I think it's a psychological artifact. More accurately, if one of the players does not know how to accurately range villain, then yes, shoving first could be preferable simply because it will exploit villain's leaks. But if both villains are rational and can accurately range their opponent, then I'm pretty sure that being in position is strictly better, and that the fact that the OOP player can shove first does not help him (because the IP player can call appropriately wide).

Re: Position versus First mover's advantage

Could it be that first mover may always be at a disadvantage against a GTO bot, but can often be at an advantage against real players because they are put in a position where they can more easily make mistakes?
