for one thing, there's still tons more good info out there about nlhe, and good info can significantly reduce the learning curve.

A,
There is so much info on NL, easily a thousand times more info available. Just pick up any poker periodicals and count how many plo articles there will vs nl articles.

NL is easier than plo. I play both profitably.

Lastly, the magnitude of mistakes playing nl as if it were plo are less than if you were to play plo as if it were nl. (If that makes sense)

You rarely find good plo players who is horrible at nl.
The other way around on the other hand....
Nl is a simpler game, if you can assign ranges and likely equites at plo, you can do it at nl, its a piece of cake compared..

Re: Plo vs nl hold em , hardest to adjust ?

PLO to NLHE is the easy answer but it really depends on a lot of things. I mean if you're just talking about getting to a basic level of competency yes, of course the switch to NLHE is easier but does getting to that level of competency in NLHE get you into any games where you can make money? Does getting to a similar level in PLO make you more money? I mean it cuts both ways the game that is easier to learn for you is easier to learn for your opponent and in poker you don't play for merit badges you play to find games where you can seperate the next guy from his money. So again, it depends on how good you mean by good, what access to what games each player has, etc.

Tic-Tac-Toe is both a lot easier and a lot harder than PLO (harder in the ways that matter to a gambler).

GOOD POINT.

It's definitely easier to obtain an edge in plo due to:
1) there is less info available that is common knowledge
2) complexity of the game
3) higher percentage of clueless villians that play plo like nl

Re: Plo vs nl hold em , hardest to adjust ?

Moving from a NL game to a PL game is much harder then the other way around. If you would have asked the question PLHE and NLHE the PL player would still do better. I have seen a lot of guys playing PLO who are clueless of when to bet, check and fold. They just don't get that in PLO you need to know how to play for your effective stack versus 'getting it in good' that is so common in NL games. Just raising the right amount pre-flop is a lot more tricky then in NL and if you go to showdown a bet that is to small accumulates as the hand progress and you could find yourself sitting at showdown with chips behind in front of both players.
