Need help with value raising math

Hi I just got done reading Poker Math That Matters and I need some help on the math for value raising. From what I read the math showed the EV of value bets in relation to the percentage of hands that we are beating and the hands that are beating us. But I wanted to analyze a spot where villain donked out river oop 1/2 pot and we have top pair second best kicker and are considering a thin value raise. I wanted to analyze the math on that but don't know how to do it. Thanks.

Give a specific hand example and you're more likely to get help.
