Here's an error I realized in
Example 16.2 - [0,1] Game #5:
The table at the bottom of page 181 contains the following rows:
Quote:
For X at x1 (the indifference between X checking and betting):
Y's hand | X check-calls | X bets | Difference | Product |
... | | | | |
[y2,x1] | -1 | -1 | 0 | 0 |
[x1,y1] | -1 | -1 | 0 | 0 |
... | | | | |
However, considering that the game is parameterized as
X should
gain one bet when y's hand is in [x
1,y
1], since y will always bet a worse hand in the check-call case, and will be forced to call a bet with a worse hand in the bet case. Thus the table should read like this:
Quote:
For X at x1 (the indifference between X checking and betting):
Y's hand | X check-calls | X bets | Difference | Product |
... | | | | |
[y2,x1] | -1 | -1 | 0 | 0 |
[x1,y1] | +1 | +1 | 0 | 0 |
... | | | | |
However, considering that the difference and product are correct either way, this does not effect the following calculations.
