Hello I am forming a study group of 4-8 dedicated people to analyze and study poker theory and do research on different spots/situations. I want a healthy group size for the different perspectives/thought processes on spots, the bigger the group the more data we can get through and share results in order to achieve a mutual goal faster. So I appreciate anyone that takes the time to apply and I will consider all applications seriously. The group will be mainly focused on more advanced material, so I will be accepting people with ample experience at least ~2+ years seems like a good baseline.

If you are a novice player I encourage you to still apply, even though you wont be given priority there might be 1 or 2 openings for some newer players who are committed to study. If you have a background in mathematics and statistical analysis from school/work would help.

I started playing poker about 10 years ago at a young age recreationaly, I started playing seriously about 5/6 years ago and have recently decided to focus heavily on studying in order to breakthrough as a better player.

I might try this.

- I play poker since 2008.
- I'm 27, I play NL50 heads up zoom.
- I use CREV and PT4 regularly, Mathematica on some basic level.
- I study mathematics at a university (3rd year now), took a poker theory class that was led by co-creators of DeepStack, taking an optimization class right now (crucial for poker solving algorithms) and a basic statistics course right now.
- I have a limited experience with programming (basically mostly two mandatory classes I had), definitely willing to change that though.
- The time I can put in this depends on how close it is to the exam period.
- I want to get sound mathematical results (both exploitative and GTO-related).
- I'd want the group to be a long term, high quality thing, rather than a large one.

-I am 21, play 1.50 turbo sng's and mtt's up to 3.30
-I use HM2 and SNGwizard for nash push fold ranges.

I want to discuss hands a lot, and have some "order" to study things. So i think being in a group is a good idea. Hope the stakes I play are not a problem. My plan is to become a semi-pro in 1 o 2 years, and then see whats happens in the furete. This possibility started since a week ago (when i quit my job).

I've been playing poker like an idiot since I was about 10 from a silly video game. About 1 1/2 years ago, I realized that poker was a skill game and started dedicating serious time to study and playing. I have read Theory of Poker, Harrington on Hold'em I + II, Easy Game, Applications of NLHE

- What is your age and what stakes do you regularly play(this info is lightly weighted.)
I'm 21 and typically play 25nl-100nl on Ignition, as well as low-microstake mtts. I play lower stakes on ACR. In January, I had a bad downswing coupled with extraneous personal expenses and lost a good chunk of my bankroll.

- What poker analytic software do you have available? any other data analytics software (eg. graph making software)
I use an app on my iPhone for Ignition, since there's no tracking software, and PT4 for ACR.

- Any background in mathematics?
I was put on the accelerated track in math back in middle school, and took Differential Equations and Calc III by my senior year. I was a ChemE major but have since switched to Computer Science Engineering. I have taken the required Engineering Statistics and am currently taking Discrete Mathematics, as well as Numerical Analysis.

- Programming? Good at excel spreadsheets? etc.
I work with C++, Java, Python, and Matlab regularly. I am familiar with Excel and macros.

- How much time each week can you commit to studying?
Because I am a student, my schedule can get a little hectic. However, when I have free time, I typically study (poker, chess, languages) for hours on end.

- What are your group expectations and goals?
Even though I have a strong background in math, a lot of my game still focuses on the psychological aspect--ie betting patterns and even timing tells--as Ignition does not allow HUDs and many players in the lower stakes are not playing a balanced strategy. I personally would like to learn how to properly balance ranges for specific boards, and I think that a dedicated group like this could easily become a powerhouse of online poker.

I have played a lot of poker over 6 months and have become profitable at 5nl to the tune of 6bb/100 over 200,000ish hands. I beat the pool and will move up in line with BR management quite soon.

I don't have a degree in mathematics and don't feel it is particularly relevant for participants of said hypothetical group to have one in order for it to be beneficial.

Oi, this seems way too official to me. I play 10NL and 25NL when I play cash and $10 MTTs or SNGs. I pretty much break even in those cash limits and I beat the tournaments. I recently got PT4 and I hardly know how to use it. If anyone feels like they are around my level I would love to connect on Skype to chat and discuss hands sometimes.
