EXACT odds of aces vs kings preflop EXACT odds of aces vs kings preflop

03-31-2012 , 03:33 PM
Hello,

I need to know the EXACT odds of ace hearts & ace diamonds vs king clubs & king spades preflop winning, not winning+drawing in the same %.

Not the odds of being dealt these cards, or anything else.

simply if I have 2 red aces, and my opponent has 2 black kings preflop, we're all in now whats the % that the kings can win excluding draw. So just the % that the 2 kings can win.

Please do not quote any online odds calculations such as the ones on cardplayer or pokerlistings because they are not EXACT they are approximations.

Sorry to be so extreme in the way I ask but people always seem to post a load of rubbish to these questions. I have no doubt there will be some people who post answers to a question that hasn't been asked but my method of asking is sure to cut them down.

Thanks a lot, really appreciated.

Also if you know anywhere that has exact calculations can you please tell me where it is? Thanks again

Did you notice he gave you the exact probability as well? 1712304 is the number of possible different hold'em boards (with 4 known cards) and 317694 is the amount of boards KcKs wins on. It doesn't get any more exact than that.
In reduced form it's 52949 / 285384.
ProPokerTools.com confirms:
Quote:
Hold'em Simulation
1,712,304 trials (Exhaustive)
Hand Equity Wins Ties
AhAd 81.26% 1,388,072 6,538
KcKs 18.74% 317,694 6,538

Did you notice that I asked twice for the exact % and nothing else?

Anyway, thanks yaq, can anyone else confirm his results?

The problem is, pokerstove the site yaq recommended is not 18.55% so whats going on?

Can someone tell the probability of rolling a 1 or a 2 with a six-sided die? I went to a website that told me the answer was 0.333333 but I don't know what kind of idiot would be satisfied with an approximate answer like that. Also, please don't tell me 1/3 - IF I WANTED A FRACTION, I WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR A FRACTION!!!

Remember: I want an exact answer. If that involves an infinite number of digits, well, better quit your whining and start typing!

the .333 will recur forever, I want to know where the aa vs kk stops.

According to Wolfram Alpha the decimal representation would be

The part with the bar on top recurring infinitely. It will never stop.

0.333...

There, an exact decimal representation.

Let's just hope base 10 will be satisfactory, lest this topic hits 9 pages by morning.

What if it does never stop (as already pointed out)? Which btw is a very likely occurrence... if you study math for 3.14s

But wait... I have a solution for you, with all your requirements

In base 1712304 the answer is simply
0.#
where # is the 317694th digit in that base.
Now you just need a little practice to do math in base 1712304 and you are done!

Why do you need to know?

This . . . either the Aces will win, or the Kings will. 50/50

Lock it.

Why? Do you have a bet riding on it or a homework assignment?

Well, just because you NEED to know the exact answer to this obviously very important question, I'ma help you out.

However, you are obviously ******ed for not knowing the answer to this question already, so let me lay this out to you real simply.

You need to count both your outs.

You have KK. How many direct outs do you have? 2. You have them five times. So that's ten outs.

He has AA. So, he also has two outs. The other two aces (ldo). Five times. That's ten (10) outs.

So, you'd think you're equal. But wait!!!!!!!!

Obviously, your flush outs are equal too, since you have different suits.

AA can make two straights. A2345. TJQKA.
KK can make two straights. TJQKA. 9TJQK.

So.

The.

Odds.

Are.
