Dealing with aggressive limp callers? Dealing with aggressive limp callers?

What I mean by an aggressive limp caller is someone whose stats are like 70/10 but then they play very aggressively postflop. The donk a lot of flops, usually calling raises or 3betting. They might lead the turn again or check raise. They play very unpredictably postflop. But it's very hard to put them on a range because their limp call range is SO wide preflop.

I'd appreciate any advice on how to deal with this kind of player. I'm playing the Micros and there are so many of these guys out there. The money is small so they can play ATC and play like maniacs.

TAG POSITION POKER MAKES YOUR POSTFLOP DECISIONS MUCH EASIER....thats what i would do and have had success and it works really well with 1-2 live games...Cant 3 bet light calling stations you are going to get into so many bad spots

you can open up your range tho with your 3 bets in position like AQ AJ suited KQ suited but i wouldnt do it with my 10 7 suited or Ace x hands etc etc...TAG POSITION POKER

Keep the pot small pre-flop (raise less) and trap post-flop (check more). Be prepared to dump a lot of hands on the flop. Check-raising is your friend.

I don't disagree entirely with you, though.

You can put them on a range. You just have to accept that it can be a rather wide range. Since their range includes a lot of bad hands, hands which you would value-bet against most other players become bluff-catchers against these players. Sometimes they are not bluffing and sometimes they suck out, but you win in the long run.

Also to be more specific: Think about why you would lose money playing like that. That should answer your question.

The only thing you can be certain of is when playing 70% pre-flop and playing that aggressively post-flop, they would either need to be bluffing the vast majority of the time or be the luckiest players in the world.

If they always seem to have it when someone looks them up, I'd avoid playing on that site anymore.

I remember one time I played against this type of a player @Pokerstars and it was pretty hilarious. He was plaing like 60% hands, and going crazy post-flop. But the funny thing here was that people were looking him up OTR, and he showed up with like 8 straights and flushes in ~15min. So he was then sitting on +~500bb, lost them quick afterwards.

Some of those players go nuts on the flop and maybe the turn, but slow down if they get to the river and/or have multiple callers unless they have something.

In live games, I am pretty good at reading these kinds of players and making hero calls with weak hands when they have nothing while folding stronger hands when they hit on the river while laughing inside at the guys who call down with top-top because they can't figure out when a guy has two pair.

I would definitely consider limping aces pre-flop in a game with a player like this.

It is amazing how often people who play that many hands seem to hit big. I think the small stakes allow people to play in a really crazy way because there are no really bad consequences, just losing $5 or $10. I raised a limper today and he 3bet shoved. I had TT and called. He showed J5o. Flop A43.Turn Q. Riv.2
I don't play at high levels, but surely nobody at 100NL would ever limp shove J5o for 100bb??? Or am I wrong?

Is the variance worse at low levels? It's making me so tilted that I end up playing s h 1t myself. Just raising their limps with junk and bluffing too aggressively. In other words, I just turn into the Villain that I hate so much.

I have seen people do that in a live 1/3 NL game for 100bb.
