Im not the best of searching after threads, please leave a link to any thread that may be helpful.

Im having problem playing vs active BB.
By active I mean someone that folds less than lets 40% of hands.

Some of the regs Im playing against daily has stats like,

Fold vs steal: 18
3bet: 18

Fold vs steal: 30
3bet: 10

Fold vs steal: 30
3bet: 20

Fold vs steal: 23
3bet: 6

Fold vs steal:24
3bet: 28

Playing my normal SB range vs these guys wont be profitable.
Its hard to play such a wide range OOP.

How do we adjust our range when we cant steal the blind anymore?

My guess would be,
- Open bigger with a tighter range
- Open same range, defend more hands vs 3bet, by 4betting more
- Open same size with a tighter range

question is how much I should change my range and which hands to choose.

I guess taking away hands like 22-66, lower SC and some ofsuit hands.
keeping highcard hands.

Hope to get a good dicussion on this topic.

It depends on effective stacks, your open raise sizing, tournament structure? cash? ect..

Most highstakes players have an open limping range in the Small Blind against a good regular in the Big Blind.

You could try to limp the top 65% of hands, and then build your limp/folding, limp/calling and limp/reraising ranges. That would mean no open raising range.

I prefer a 3 big blind raise as default from the small blind with full stacks. I think limping is exploitive and should only be done vs passive players.

Without a read on what the big blind is 3 betting, I'm folding some hands, calling some hands, and 4 betting some hands. I just assume that the big blind is gonna be full of it often enough to make set mining and calling with suited connectors profitable until proven otherwise.

Build a range that includes raise-folds, raise-calls, raise-4bets, limp-reraises, limp-calls and limp-folds. You can probably play around 60-65% of hands profitably if you get your ranges right.

Thanks!

I will look into limping as that is new for me.

Click START on the left. Click OPEN POSITION. Click SB.
That's supposedly a pseudo-optimal strategy for the SB in a 6-max game, with lots of limping. (Green hands should be opened 100% of the time, yellow can be limped or raised).
Whether Snowie is very good is arguable, but I think a modified version of its limping strategy can be quite effective.
