Balancing ranges - Question from noob poker hobbyist Balancing ranges - Question from noob poker hobbyist

Hey,

So I have been thinking about the concept of mixing any action with polarising ranges. When developing a range for any action is it correct to have an equal number of combinations at each end of the polarised range, (slow plays with floats, etc). Or am I looking at this the wrong way.

Sorry for the vagueness. I am no professional and I haven't really studied the game.

Thanks in advance.

No, a balanced range does not mean there are an equal number of bluffs and value bets.

In the classic example where hero bets pot on the river, a balanced (and polarized) betting range has the ratio of 2 value combos per each bluff combo. The ratio should be altered according to the bet size.

This is probably detailed in the sticky thread(s) at the top of this forum. It's probably a good idea to read them.
