Categorizing Hands: How would you explain starting hand strength?

= limp possible (usually open, 25/75 on tough table):
a8s-a2s
KJs, QTs
66.55.44.33.22

= always open:
AA-77
AKs-A9s
KQs, QJs, JTs
AK

= wildcard:
AQ, AJ, KJ, QJ, JT, J9s, J8s
K9s, K8s, K7s

= always 3-bet:
AA, KK, QQ, AKs

= usually 3-bet:
JJ, TT, AK, AQs, AJs, ATs, KQs, AQ

= maybe 3-bet:
A9s, A8s, A7s (KJs. KTs, QTs)

= rarely 3-bet:
A6s. A5s. A4s, (99, 88, 77, 66, 55, 44 = set mine)

= dwan 3-bet:
Q9s, JTs, J9s, J8s, J7s, T9s, T8s, T7s, 98s, 97s, 96s

= maniac hands:
a9, K6s, K5s, K4s, Q8s, Q7s, Q6s, Q5s, Q4s

= avoid 3-bet (other than tourney short stack):
A3s, A2s, 33. 22

= rock bluffs:
AT, KT, QT, A8, A7

= join the fish or play aggro w/ pos:
J9, J8, T9

= lame ace button steal
A6, A5, A4, A3, A2

= megalo-manic hands: 95s, 94s, 86s, 85s, 76s, 75s, 65s

any playable opening hand i miss?? anyone include J6s, J5s, J4s on button?

Who's in the big blind? Yes there are times to check raise bluff the river. I don't think you should be looking at it so black and white. When you play unknowns you'll need a baseline, but as soon as you get reads you start to adjust.

JTs please

Define what better is.

K7s has more equity heads up preflop over JTs and removes combos of AK and KK. JTs plays better postflop and makes stronger hands postflop more often than K7s.

Re: Agree/Disagree: JTs is superior to K7s & Q8s

slightly depends i guess but for the vast majority of intents and purposes, yes JTs is better. i mean it plays well enough postflop to have in your opening range in EP at a 9handed table (and certainly at 6max), whereas the other hands really don't. also a lot of situations where you would want to call a raise pf with JTs but would not be able to profitably flat K7s or Q8s

This is really not a thread for poker theory. You've made several posts about starting hands for NLHE and this is really just not what poker theory is about. You're now making a post about the efficacy of a single hand, JTs. I would like to stop you here before you start making posts about all the other hands you like.
