I try to accumulate chips with value hands, Q10s can make good pairs, 73s simply cannot. based on equity Q10s is superior. when do we ever make the nuts btw.

also you don't focus solely on 73 suited. you focus on 'low suited gappers' as a whole range. the goal with low suited gappers is to rep better hands(bluff) while possibly making nutter hands vs villains weak ranges. if villain switches up ranges, you can get in a lot of ugly spots. just make sure you have a goal in mind and you're keeping track of what villains ranges are because you can be playing this hand in a bad spot just for the sake of playing it because it's "73s".

I don't have my database on this computer, but I know I have a very low VPIP with 73s. I've literally never called a raise with it on the button, and the only situations I can think of where I will play it is on the button or in the SB when trying a steal from a nitty BB, or as a call in the BB vs a BTN/SB steal. (The latter is a fairly common spot). I don't call with 73s when I think villain's range is QQ+, because I like playing against weak ranges, not strong ones. Your idea of implied odds is - like your book - about 10 years out of date.

Forget the trolls and start the discussion if you want. Some numbers would be helpful though. Maybe some examples of how playing this hand is supposed to work would help.

You should consider finding something better to do with your time, Johnny.

You know, a lot of people like to play suited connecting cards...imagine that.

My book has been reviewed and read by many people, and none of them found any flaws in it. You haven't read it and you are calling some of my friends and some poker professionals idiots here. That's swell, but I doubt you'd do that in real life where someone might not put up with it.

Can't you understand what a "hypothetical idea" is?

What about 73s vs 72s? Shouldn't the additional gappedness for 72s make it at least 5x more profitable and easier to play and dramatically better than QTs?

At least OP didn't cite Hellmuth's " Play Poker Like The Pros" . Calls 73s like an elephant tho

Did this guy really write a book that people actually bought? What a scam.

Edit: although I appreciate the effort to keep fish playing as bad as they possibly could if that is the motive.

I read it when it was available for free, and I'm considering asking for a refund of my time.
