What are the benefits to the vip gear levels? What are the benefits to the vip gear levels?

While in 2nd gear, I converted 10,000 points for $100 cash twice.

While in 3rd gear, I converted 20,000 points for $200 cash twice.

And while in 4th gear, I converted $30,000 points for $300 cash twice.

In 5th gear I will need 40,000 points to convert into a $400 bonus. I'm assuming I will do this twice before I reach top gear.

And then in top gear I will need 50,000 points to convert into a $500 bonus and I can do this as many times as I want since there is no gear above top gear. So every time I have 50,000 points I can convert into $500 cash.

I hope this helps. PM me if you still have questions.

Thanks, Hubs. That helps a lot. I feel like a bit of an idiot, because it didn't occur to me to redeem the same bonus twice within the same gear, but I get it now and will be happily purchasing my second $100 bonus when I get home.

Glad I could help!

I'd have PMed you, but might as well post here since it isn't a hi-jack and others may be wondering what I'm wondering:

What's the point of saving up and converting 50k points into $500?

If you can just do 10k pts. into $100 every time u hit 10k points, is there no other difference other than the size of a lump sum?

Being in different gears are meaningless as far as accumulating points go...Correct?

I'm under the impression that since I'm willing to play MTTs, there's no reason for me to wait 'til I get 10k points when I can just use them to buy in to MTTs...

You can only do 10K pts for $100 cash in 2nd gear. Once you hit 3rd gear the 10K pts for $100 cash option goes away and you must use 20K pts for $200 and so on.

Oh I see...So I guess tourney players have no incentive to hoard points since it's the same conversion rate.

This promo doesn't make sense to me, in that there's no incentive to get to the next gear. In fact it seems to force you to play more to maintain the same conversion rate. Meh, I can appreciate the cold hard chedda anyway

This is stupid. I'd rather be on 2nd gear forever. When in 4th or 5th gear , if the 100$ v 10k redeem option is gone, it'll take forever to convert 40k points and so on. It's better to be in the 100$ vs 10k points gear!!

This whole vip system fails hard I think, and it needs a revamp. the points:rate convertion must change(improve) as you climb through the levels. Clearly this whole system wasn't thought out too much when designed.

this is exactly right. points should be worth more per dollar as you move up vip levels. i just reach 4th gear and it looks like it'll take me more than a 1.5 months to get my 'cold hard cash' for another 30k points. id rather just have the 10k/$100 all the time and do away with VIP levels for rb players.

If you do not have RB points go up in value as you move up in gears. If you have RB then the value of the points do not change. Points with RB are worth a penny apiece which is equal to their value in fourth gear without RB I believe.

If it is true that with RB you have to keep saving up more points before you can cash them as you go up the gears then LOL.

How long until you announce the changes? I'm sure you must be doing this before June 1.

I forgot about that!

Make sure you are rested for the many questions you will receive!

With RB:

$1 rake = 6.5 pts and $.35 rakeback

points are worth $.01/pt no matter whether u do 10k for $100, 50k for $500, or buy in to tournaments, so 6.5 * .01 + .35 = .415

$1 rake = 41.5%

Without RB:

$1 rake = 10 pts (10%)

1st gear gets nothing. 10%

2nd gear gets $90/450 = .2 = 20% + 10% = 30%

3rd gear gets $171/2250 = .076 = 7.6% + 10% = 17.6% (?)

4th gear gets $450/4500 = .1 = 10% + 10% = 20% (??)

5th gear gets $2025/9000 = .225 = 22.5% + 10% = 32.5% (???)

In overdrive you supposedly get infinite cash for 225,000 pts... (?????????????????...)

Did I do that right?

This is all changing on June 1st. Sit tight... we're announcing it soon!

Haha OK, I guess I'm wasting my time racking my brains trying to figure out the system since it's changing in a week. Apologies, I'm tightly sitting...

I know the system is changing June 1st, but if 10k VIP is the threshold to exchange points for cash, why does the lobby upper right show 4500 points to hit 2nd gear?

Apologies in advance if this has been answered....couldn't find it.

There's no real correlation between these other than you can exchange your points for certain amounts while in certain gears; the VIP Points to cash exchange is just an "extra" in the VIP rewards system.
