This is what happens when a bunch of people with good ideas enter a market with good intentions, but absolutely fail at delivering because they have no idea about poker, at all.

Really kind of frustrating, to be honest, and I don't normally get upset about stuff like this since I'm a programmer as well.

Idea: Change the version number on the old software, put it back up and let us go on with our lives until you guys properly test this.

For what it's worth, I don't remember this ever happening to me, ever, with any site.

I regged for a $5 super turbo 6 max, and now it took roughly 6-7 minutes to tell me I had done so, deduct the money, and I'm currently trying to dereg. Keep you updated lol

It should be closed until you get your act together. Or just switch us back to the old working one that looked nice.
RPM Poker - and to the best of my knowledge, all other brands - have no control on whether or not the client is up. In this same vein, there was a thread posted regarding refunds. This is a good place to make this repost.

Quote:
RPM Poker is not directly involved with Merge Gaming's software update. Any refund requests that have arisen as a result of the software update can be directed directly to Merge Gaming by emailing support at RPMPoker dot eu. The decision to give refunds due to software malfunctions lies entirely with the Merge Gaming Network.
We'll be doing our best to continue to provide information, and again, Merge Gaming is aware of the ongoing issues with the client. These complaints are not going unnoticed.

Is it not possible just to put the old software back while the kinks are worked out?

The question that 's been asked and realistically needs to be answered is why does the Software Development Team not seek out volume players and ask for their input on design/functionality? All you'd need is the input of a couple cash/sng/mtt players. It's not like these guys are professional consultants who would ask for exorbitant amounts of money either. They'd be just as happy as you to see the software improved.

Seems like a very simple solution to avoid this type of problem that routinely occurs and yet very few (if any) sites take this route.

The best thing anyone can do is stay far far away for now until they can get things straightened out. There will be enough yahoos who will be determined to keep playing that will be able to provide whatever testing is needed. The more games that get clogged up and lag and have to be refunded the slower support is going to be.

It`s obvious that the code was not prepared to handle the load of the entire site, and load testing wasn`t done correctly. Probably got rushed due to the lock mess. But were all stuck now so at least we can be smart and stay the heck out of the way until the user base gives it a clean bill of health.

Live chat is online and has been for a few hours now, ahead of schedule, due to the ongoing maintenance.

I've decided that I'm just going to stop playing once this mess is finished. Cash out or just go busto quickly with what I have left. I'm so sick and tired with how things are in the US. Came back 2 weeks ago to try and build a roll and had no complaints. Now seeing how this mess has gone down and the mess over at lock and it's just not worth it as a US player. Those that play higher stakes and are making a ton of $$$ playing still of course won't agree, however, the state of online poker in the US is just ridiculous at this point and there's nothing we can do other than deal with it or just not play.

Pokerstars.net FTW!!!!

1- Please, please, please..... bring back the mini mode.

2- Quit the ADD BANNER of the bottom of the table.

3- Also, table scan turbo is having problems just because the smart people behind this update put just 5 players on the table player list of the lobby.

First off i know this is not RPM'S fault,
unless they were given an option to wait and keep the old software running.

Exactly what I was wondering. I hope its not possible, bc if so, then we have to begin asking why wasnt this done when Merge initially realized the client wasnt running half as smoothly as planned. Ive had the client close itself on me twice while scrolling through the lobby! Im not gonna be a damn crash test dummy lol. I think most sensible players plan on sitting out. As if we dont have enough issues to worry about. Dont try to fix what wasnt broken.

Many are still waiting on a response. The Merge support team is receiving a higher than normal volume of e-mail and is working on responding to them in the order they are received.

my 2 games popped up an hr later, i hope merge doesnt assume i "Played" these games lol, just the waiting game now i guess
06-06-2012 , 03:29 PM

I haven't noticed any lag playing ring games, which is nice. Although it did crash twice in about an hour.
